My husband and I have twice in the recent past been guests at this marvelous resort, complete with historic garden and ruins, and have nothing but praise for the Spa. Small and intimate, we felt like it was our private retreat.Hubby has had Hot Stone Massages all over the world, and says this was one of the best. They offer a full line of the standard Spa treatments and massage, including Reflexology. The staff is professional, experienced and friendly. There is a sauna, eucalyptus steam room and whirlpool for each gender, and a coed whirlpool, as well, which is open late for guests. We will definitely go back.

Barnsley is disgusting! Moldy, old, leaking, cold water, horrible service! DONT GO THERE!

For what the staff and advertisements call a "high end resort" we were so disapointed in Barnsley Gardens. The gardens themselves were small and trashy. The fountain was wrapped in plastic. There was one tiny map with two paragraphs of history about "the ruins" they boast about. The spa was ok, but busy and not well managed. Staff all seem to be very young and inexperienced. Lady who checked us out was so rude! Nobody seemed to know anything when we had questions about our reservation/bill. A manager had to be called and he did not appear for quite a long time, athough we heard him being contacted over their radios (very unproffesional) and he sounded aggrevated with even having to come do his job. I believe Barnsley is overpriced for the very little service we received. No bellman came to greet us at the door, the young man who took us to our room was ungroomed and barely said a word, but held his hand out for a tip. I do NOT recommend Barnsley for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway!!!! It is a place full of stress and complications.
