Primary Care
We have state-of-the-art electronic health records (EHR) that allows us to access your records any time and anywhere. EHR records your medications and will send your records to your primary care physician, or any referring physician, and can also give you access to your records through our Patient Portal.
Emergency Care
If hospitalization is necessary, we will arrange for your admission, and in extreme cases, call for an ambulance. By using our ECA services, you can avoid an unnecessary trip to the Emergency Room and be admitted directly to a hospital bed, or to a cardiac catheterization lab as determined by the cardiologist who evaluates you.
Electrocardiogram
This is a test of your heart. It lets your doctor see how well your heart is working. A doctor can use this test to find out if you have a heart problem or to monitor a heart problem your doctor already knows you have.
Pneumonia
Erin Tersegno, PharmD was born and raised in Rochester, NY before earning her PharmD from the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Erin decided to pursue a career in pharmacy and post-graduate training due to her desire to provide the highest quality of patient-centered care. Dr. Tersegno completed two years of post-graduate training: one year as an Inpatient Pharmacy Practice Resident at Stony Brook University Hospital on Long Island, NY, and a second year of cardiology specialty residency, which she completed in conjunction with CCA and Albany College of Pharmacy. She has conducted formal research on the use of intravenous pentamidine for pneumocystis pneumonia prophylaxis as well as a pharmacist-led intervention to optimize utilization of SGLT-2 inhibitors for those with heart failure.

Internal Medicine
Dr. Scott Purga grew up in Schenectady. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Boston University, College of Arts and Science with dual major in Medical Science and Psychology. While at Boston University, he was enrolled in the seven-year accelerated medical program, was a recipient of the Distinguished Sophomore Award (given to the Top 40 students of the class year), and honored Phi Beta Kappa. He received his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine, where he was a recipient of the Anthony L.F. Gorman Prize in Physiology and honored Alpha Omega Alpha. While at Boston University, Dr. Purga was an Introduction to Clinical Medical Instructor. Dr. Purga’s post graduate training was at New York Presbyterian Hospital / Weill Cornell Medical Center with a residency in Internal Medicine. He subsequently completed a fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at Albany Medical Center.

By offering a multidisciplinary team approach of cardiovascular wellness, participants will receive personalized guidance and support from a team of experienced healthcare professionals, including cardiologists, registered dietitians, clinical pharmacists, health coaches, and exercise physiologists.

Dr. Katharine Abbot, PharmD, is a native of Ossining, NY. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from SUNY Stony Brook University in Long Island, NY, before obtaining her Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Dr. Abbot pursued two years of post-graduate training: the first year as an inpatient pharmacy resident at Lynchburg General Hospital in Lynchburg, VA, and the second year as an endocrinology specialty resident, a program she completed in collaboration with Albany Medical Center’s Division of Community Endocrinology and Albany College of Pharmacy. During her training, Dr. Abbot conducted formal research on the adherence to inpatient antibiotics for community-acquired pneumonia and the use of a diagnostic scoring tool for patients with chronic kidney disease and type 2 diabetes.

Ultrasound
According to the American Heart Association, “echocardiography, also called an echo test or heart ultrasound, is a test that takes ‘moving pictures’ of the heart with sound waves. You don’t have to stay in the hospital. It’s not surgery and doesn’t hurt.” The procedure usually takes about 30 minutes to complete. Capital Cardiology Associates is a ICAEL Accredited Echocardiography Lab.
Nuclear Medicine
The Diagnostic Imaging Center at Corporate Woods offers quality imaging and nuclear medicine, echocardiography, exercise stress testing and Holter monitoring
Computed Tomography
The Enhanced Cardiac Access (ECA) suite provides same-day evaluations of patients with non-life-threatening symptoms such as chest pain, palpitations, shortness of breath or rapid heart rate. The ECA allows rapid evaluations utilizing exercise stress tests, heart CT scans, nuclear stress tests, echocardiograms, continuous cardiac telemetry monitoring, and blood work in our on-site blood testing lab.
