Face Lift
The incision for the facelift operation begins in the temple hair above and in front of the ear. It extends down just in front of the ear, around the earlobe, up behind the ear, and then backward into the hair of the scalp. Through this incision the skin is elevated out into the temples, cheeks, and neck. The underlying muscles and connective tissues are re-positioned to lend some permanency to the realignment of the facial structures– the so-called SMAS, two layered or sling procedure. Excess skin is then removed. Sometimes fat is removed and, occasionally, a small incision is made under the chin to help with the correction. The skin edges are secured with appropriate suture material. The facelift operation usually takes between two to three hours. When it is completed a bulky dressing is applied and the patient is transferred to a recovery area.
Neck Lift
Since everyone ages at a different rate and people are seeking improvement or just to maintain a certain level of youthful appearance at an earlier age these days, a full facelift often may not be necessary. One or two areas may be all that needs work and you should not mistakenly wait until everything goes and then get it fixedâ€ . As a rule the earlier one starts a rejuvenation program, the better and longer lasting the results are. Often a problem with excessive upper eyelid skin is accentuated by the relaxation of the eyebrows and forehead.Â When this is the case, an operation to elevate the brows and perhaps, even the forehead is in order.Â The direct or mid-forehead brow lift is designed to remove skin just above the brows and to elevate the muscles around the eyes to improve drooping of the brows themselves.Â This operation is most successful with men since they usually have numerous forehead wrinkles in which to hide the resulting scars.Â It is used infrequently with women, and only with those who have considerable forehead wrinkling.Â However, many women now are having an operation that both elevates the brows and diminishes forehead wrinkles and frown lines.Â This procedure is called forehead lift and is performed through an incision hidden behind the hair line.Â The forehead and brows are elevated and the excess skin is removed from behind the hairline, completely hiding the scar.Â All of these procedures can be done alone or in combination with a facelift or other facial surgery.

Chemical Peels
A burning sensation may be experienced when the solution is applied during the chemical peel. This should quickly pass as the chemical itself acts as a local anesthetic. The mild burning or warm sensation may return to some extent and linger throughout the time the face is taped. Momentary pain may also occur when the tape is removed.
