So I looked at the menu this weekend and it says they've been in business since 1994. It looks like they bought an old Taco Bell and converted it into Hawaiian-Chinese Fusion goodness.
Anyway, back to the food. Ordered:
1) Small order of Macadamia Nut Pancakes - 2 pieces (instead of 3) that the owner said was "this big" and came out " THIS BIG". They separated it into 2 plates for us so boytoy & I could each have our own. Good idea! Otherwise I might have only gotten a couple of bites - he scarfed his down. Hands down the best dish we ordered here.
2) Loco Moco - it was tasty - used that gravy I liked so much on top of their meatloaf the other day. I wish they'd add onion or green onion to the patty to make it more juicy. But the over easy eggs were the most perfect over easy eggs we've ever seen. I know, it's silly to be so amazed by eggs. Anyone can make 'em. Aloha FF is the only one who's perfected the art of making over easy eggs. Yummy runny goodness!
3) Side of Cha Shu - it's actually a rather sweet cha shu flavor (not as thick of a sauce consistency like where in a Chinese cha shu bao it coats it like BBQ sauce) so I could probably only handle it as a side dish - not main dish. It was tasty.
4) Spam Musubi - I guess I thought the spam to rice ratio was a little small. I like my meat - even processed blended left over pieces of who knows what called Spam. This was okay.
5) House Coffee - it was very tasty & constantly refilled.
I know earlier in the week I told myself that I was gonna get that shaved ice. Okay, we were so full, we rolled ourselves out of there without the ice. I'm so sad, but I just couldn't put another bite into my tummy. FAIL on our part.
Definitely coming back for the pancake, over easy eggs, coffee & to try the shaved ice.

Have been going 5+ years after discovering it blocks from my work (CSULA). Have tried just about everything and have never been sorry. My two favorites are the Macadamia Nut Pancakes (yummy any time) and their snow cones are incredible! Ernie recommended the short ribs and they are to die for, too. Great Chinese Chicken salads and won ton soup. Quality is always consistent because Betty is always there in the kitchen with a smile and a 'hello'. If you order something to go, you can flip through the family photo album while you wait. Great food, great prices, all around great place to go. By the time you leave, you feel like part of the extended family. Don't skip this one!
