The guy that owns this shop is best described as the "Bike Nazi". (as in "Soup Nazi" from the Seinfeld episode.) When you ask him for an item, he actually will argue with you about it! And he is a completely sexist pig as well. One time I was in the shop when a very fit, experienced female cyclist came in and ask for a particular item from a specific company for her boyfriend. The guy proceeded to interrogate her over why she had to have what she asked for, questioned her ability to make a proper selection and then told her to have her boyfriend come in and talk to him directly because he couldn't trust her. OMG!!! When I've gone in to buy a part, he always assumes it is for my husband. When I told him I was building a recumbent bike, I thought he was going to have a stroke!
It is too bad the owner is such a jerk because the other folks that work there are very nice and helpful and he carries a good selection of bikes, parts, and accessories. This shop is very close to my home, but I can't bear the thought of dealing with the owner and handing over my $$ to him!
