To begin with, I LOVED Dr. Humphries. He stayed late at night to care for me and it was his pleasure. He was so amazing. I have also spent nearly $15,000.00, OUT OF POCKET, on my teeth at his office. Yet the past few months, I have been hospitalized 3 times, as well as being incredibly sick and having to go to doctors at least twice a week due to my illness. So because of this, I had to cancel an appointment with him. I finally went in yesterday and he absolutely talked to me like I was an animal because he had spent a Sunday afternoon working on my crowns and that was the appointment I missed. In tears, I explained to him the situation and what all I had been through and he replied "Well, you're not the only person in the world, did you know that?!" I was APPALLED. I left that office in tears. I guess he finally understood what I was trying to tell him about my health and he immediately told me how bad he felt, his heart went out to me and tried to hug me, but the damage was done.

Overall

First let me say this. Every single wonderful office lady and hygienist is exceptional. I have seen Dr. Humphries for over 20 years. I have had few times that I was unhappy because of the attitude given by the dentist himself. Those times were not often and I felt maybe he had a stressful day. However, the last year I have had to cancel a crown appointment and rescheduled and also had to cancel the second time. I have a 55 hour work week and 3 amazing children. We all know that sometimes things with work or our precious children come up and our plans get put on hold. This was the case here. I visited today because I have a broke tooth and another that was examined the last cleaning that I didn't miss in between then and now. I needed that scheduled and now this tooth. The doctor came in. Told me I missed two vital appointments. That wasn't the patients he would continue to see. I explained again what happened. I was quickly told I needed to get my priorities straight (my children and job) and I obviously did not care about my teeth. Of course I do. I have been 2 to 4 times a year leading up to the last. He was insulting. Told me my tooth could be saved and I may have an abcess and I can take my xray elsewhere but he would refuse my service. In these years I have never left with out paying in full. Called to cancel so someone else could take my appointment. I have referred others there and my own children. I am in search of a new dentist and I am devasted. I hope he does has a better day and more concern for someone.

Overall

I have been going to Dr. Humphries since just a few years after he opened his office. I have never experienced him being rude. My children are grown and live in different towns so they no longer use him, but he still remembers them by name and always ask how they are doing. If you don't properly brush and floss it will make the dental cleaning more painful. Yes, the wait can be long at times, but if you need him in an emergency he will fit you in immediately. I know that from experience and I'm sure I caused his patients to have to wait longer that day, but I'm sure if they were in the same situation they would understand.

I will not be going back. I s...

I will not be going back. I sat in his waiting room for almost 3 hours. The time before this I waited 2 1/2 hours. It is just not worth it. He has some good staff, but there is one or two that are really rough when they clean your teeth. Your gums hurt for days. When I mentioned this to him he told me that it was my fault and got very defensive. I don't have this problem with his other staff. It is not agonizing pain to get my teeth cleaned when they do it. After I waited all that time I didn't like being talked down to by him. I will just take my business elsewhere.

Rude dentist and wait is extremely long

Dr. Humphries is extremely rude and arrogant. The wait at his office is extremely long. Most of his staff is friendly, but if there is any problems with his work or an employees, then he goes insane. He will tell you that you do not know what you are talking about or that he didn't do that. He even yelled at one of his employees because he thought she was siding with me. Very unprofessional.
