Overall
Very Dissatisfied

My son suffered a severe traumatic brain injury while traveling out of state. When he recovered and returned to West Virginia he was to have an EEG performed. Dr. Vaught said he had never treated anyone with a brain injury?! He did not schedule the EEG and did not ask about medications other than anti-seizure medication. So I scheduled an appt. with a neurologist in Morgantown, and at the first appointment the Morgantown physician scheduled the EEG without my even requesting it.

Dr. Vaught really didn't appear to know what he was doing and seemed disinterested in his patient. His office never called for a follow-up or to check on my son's condition.

Overall
Dr. Vaught is the BEST!!!!

Dr. Vaught is the best neurologist in Beckley!!! I have been suffering from burning and tingling in my legs, and numbness in my feet for many years. I have been to many different doctors over the years that have not been able to help me with these problems. I was finally sent to Dr. Vaught where he performed a nerve test on me and found out that I have severe neuropathy, and after further investigating he found out I was diabetic that was causing my neuropathy. I was then started on medicine that has improved my pain greatly!!!!!! I highly recommend anyone with these or any other problems to Dr. Vaught's office. The experience with him and his staff was pleasant and very easy to talk to.

Overall
My Experience

Dr. Vaught performed 3 EMG's, each time having trouble with some signals and kept moving and pokiing and pressing, leaving bruises until he obtained a semi-satisfactory signal, reporting the EMG's as normal. I have since have had the EMG's repeated at UVA in Charlottesville, Va. and they are not, in fact, normal.

Dr. Vaught told me I as showing no neurological symptoms and therefore he did not think I required any further testing. I had a letter from physician from WEB MD saying I had tested 85/100 for MS and he scoffed at the WEB MD saying a person would get the exact answers they wanted from him. I told him I could because I had some medical background but I would not because I wanted to get to the real truth of my problems. He offered an MRI of brain to appease me. I told him I wanted nothing from him he thought I did not need and I would go elsewhere. Elsewhere an MRI showed several lesions on my brain, (I had been having some symptoms for over 2 years, ignored by my doctors), and am now being scheduled for CSF to confirm the diagnosis of MS.
