We contracted with the company and owner Joseph Carson based on his assurances that the job would be of high quality product done in a timely manner (about 30 days). The contract was for interior painting, kitchen remodel (new backsplash, new island, refinish floors, new exterior door) and exterior repairs to stop a water leak. The work that was completed was not workman like nor timely and required us to hire others to complete the work.

Wood floors – his company rented sanding equipment to redo the floors and after 2 attempts, the floor was visibly marred and his response to us was that he did not do it. He did not seem to be able to articulate how to properly finish a floor and did not use the correct polyurethane to match the other floors. We had to hire a qualified company to complete the floors.
Backsplash – he did not know how to install subway glass tile as he used a porcelain cutting blade that chipped the tile but he still installed it on ceramic tile adhesive that is not to be used on glass tile. He did not prep the walls correctly and the tiles were installed with varying gaps. We had 3 tile contractors review the work in attempt to salvage something but all 3 stated it would have to be completely redone. The comment was this job looks like someone that was on the job for 2 days.
Painting and trim – this had to be redone several times as we would have to continually point out areas where the paint was not done correctly. The painting early on was so bad when confronted about the quality work Joe admitted to not having his regular painters doing the work. The trim work appeared to have 2 different people doing it as some was fine work and other parts looked like a disaster (gaps, caulk smears, exposed nails, overpainting onto wood floors). He did not take care of our property while painting as there was paint damage to furniture.

We secured small claims judgement against him, Nov 2017, and are waiting for him to pay what he owes us.
