I adopted the sweetest dog in all of Palm Beach County. The employees were very pleasant and knowledgeable. They answered any question that I had and gave me the advice I needed

We adopted a dog from Tri County about 3 weeks ago and are so incredibly happy. The staff was wonderful at Tri-County and took such good care of her and they really care about the animals. Please go to tri county if you are looking for a dog. If you are not looking for a dog please go donate so that they can continue to take care of the dogs they're trying to find homes for

Review to: PLEASE BEWARE, it is the responsibility of the handle(volunteer)r Don't hate the Society! I've been waiting for years to volunteer, meaning I couldn't afford- 1,150.00 per month for health Ins. Now I can and I will be there as much as I can when possible w/the training we must have as a volunteer. Looking forward to helping out where I can and possibly finding one or two older dogs, who will never find a forever home!
Please don't feel so harsh, it was just one day and forgive........ I give a rating of 3, solely because I've just visited 3 times. Two to look for our forever doggie, and one to volunteer(I was rejected, didn't have health INS).

I found a patch that almost got hit by a car less than 100 feet away from Tri County Animal Shelter it was a Monday the gate was open I asked who could help me with a dog I found only so many feet away from their facility?? they scanned the dog indicated to me that they could not take him simply because they were not open I understand that Palm Beach County in a no kill animal County but yet the facility refused to take the dog and advise me to go to the Humane Society and Powerline Road that they would not take the dog nor could they assist in any way. I strongly believe that this pet got loose from them and they refused to take it back in previous reports a couple of months ago it was indicated and stated that this 30-pin facility to 3 months ago lost a lot of docs again they refused to help me it was a Monday and they said that there was nothing that they could do they say we're here to help that is not something you should ever believe I strongly recommend don't adopt don't take the dogs there don't do any business with Tri County Animal Shelter cuz chances are if you do adopt a dog or something happened that goes wrong they will turn you away... I give this so called company a- fighter you don't deserve to have a star but anything of recognition whatsoever Troy

Don't go. First they approved me, then refused me. Told them the truth about a dog I rescued from a local rescue . The dog was critically ill when I got it(wasn't told this at the time), and my vet advised me to give the dog back. Tri county told me that because I returned a dog to someone else, I wasn't allowed to adopt a dog from them. They weren't concerned that a local group gave me a sick dog, just that I returned the dog. Rude, nasty, horrible and humiliating. They are not what thy seem.

I went there looking to adopt a dog and was shocked at how rude the staffer was, the one woman in the room to the far left. She would not allow me to touch the dogs. Even if that is the rule, it can be explained in a nice way, not sarcastically and rude. If finding these dogs forever homes is their priority, allowing the customers to bond with an animal is the only way. They claim its to prevent contamination but pet stores with very expensive animals allow it and have you wash your hands before and after.
I can understand if a child went in asking to play with all the dogs but I am an adult clearly there to consider adopting. It's a terrible shame they allow rude people to work there as the animals are the ones that will suffer because of it.

I first got to know the shelter when a friend suggested I visit them to adopt a cat..and it's been love ever since! Yes, the interview process is detailed and diligent but their first concern is the welfare of the animals to be adopted, and yes the front desk staff leaves a great deal to be desired -- but you're there folks to rescue animals -- so take a little time to visit them and watch the care they receive. The vet staff and volunteers are extraordinary! Bravo and thank you Tri-County!

Avoid this shelter! I feel sorry for the animals being sheltered here if they treat them the same way they treat people. Our experience there was nothing short of unprofessional, disrespectful, and rude. The office staff overall is extremely disorganized and they have no way of keeping track of the customers coming in, especially after 2pm. While most of the customers who write bad reviews are probably those that weren't approved, we actually were. We filled out all of the paperwork and was ready to go through the adoption process. We were charged a total of $325 for adoption! We were flabbergasted and questioned the cost. Pam, who seems crazy and rude, said she had explained everything to us and so did her staff, although they had not. Next thing we know, the "Director" named "Susan" or "Susie" comes out and rudely asks what's the problem. She then went off about how her staff explained everything fully and that we were required to pay. Before we could say anything, she yelled at us that she was canceling our adoption agreement and were told to leave! Her last words were "the dog is better off with us then with you anyway." We had never been so shocked, disappointed, angry, disrespected, or humiliated before at being treated this way. This was by far one of the worst experiences we have ever had - and we've adopted two other dogs before from different shelters. We just hope that Pam and Susan/Susie treat their animals better than they treat people!
