        Smiley's Schooner Saloon and Hotel, established in 1851, is one of several overnight accommodations. The Saloon is open 7 days a week with live entertainment Thursday, Friday and Saturday night, featuring top Bay Area musicians. Our hotel rooms are simple yet elegant. Each room is tastefully decorated with historic pictures of the Bay Area. Each includes a private bath and complimentary coffee and a moring paper to start your day off in a lovely outdoor sitting area.

        Good drinks, and a bit of California history.

        Smiley's Saloon is not only a great bar, but it holds the distinction of being the oldest "continuously operating" bar in the state of California. Founded in 1851, Smileys is said to have remained open in the remote town of Bolinas even during Prohibition. The saloon itself used to be split in half, with the local post office, a barbershop, and a bait shop occupying the other side at different times. That sll changed during a major remodel in the 1980s, allowing Smileys to provide a bigger space. The bar itself, where regulars and newcomers alike sit,
