General Info
Located in downtown Bradenton, Manatee Memorial Hospital has served the residents of Manatee County and surrounding areas for over 60 years and continues to be a major provider of high quality medical services. The 319-bed acute care facility earned the ā€œGold Seal of Approvalā€ by The Joint Commission in July, 2014. For a hospital to receive and maintain this honor, a facility must undergo an extensive and rigorous on-site review at least every three years. The hospital has nearly doubled its size in the last few years, with the addition of a 165,000 squareā€“foot patient tower that overlooks the Manatee River and the beautiful Bradenton Riverwalk. Manatee Memorial Hospital offers patients healthcare services in a caring and compassionate environment with over 500 physicians and allied health professionals and over 1,300 employees. The range of medical services includes emergency medicine for all ages, orthopedic services, outpatient and radiology services, rehabilitation, respiratory care and oncology, women and children services, along with such centers of excellence as The Manatee Heart and Vascular Center/The Valve Institute, the Surgery Center (first in Manatee County to offer robotic-assisted surgery using the daVinciĀ® robot), the Stroke and Cerebrovascular Center, the Wound Care and Hyperbaric Program, the Breast Care Center and the Family BirthPlace, which includes the countyā€™s only Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Beyond Manatee Memorial Hospitalā€™s walls the hospital operates the Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine Center, located at 5245 33rd Street East, Suite 32 off of State Road 70. In 2011, Manatee Memorial Hospital established Manatee Countyā€™s first residency program in the primary care fields of internal medicine and family practice with eight residents. The one-year Transitional Internship Program was added in 2012. The residents work with program directors and physicians at both hospital-based and ambulatory rotations. The program is approved by the American Osteopathic Association. Manatee Memorial Hospital is proud to offer community health and wellness lectures, classes and support groups.
