Here at Little Stars, it is our belief that the foundation for a successful early childhood education is the fostering of a positive self-image. In this regard, our program is based on the understanding that each child's development is an individual process. We strive to meet the individual needs of the whole child through social, emotional, cognitive and physical development.Little Stars is dedicated to providing a safe and joyful beginning for all of our children. Each classroom provides an environment where children are free to interact, inquire and extend their understanding through hands-on experiences. In this way, children are encouraged to grow in an atmosphere that is nurturing, accepting of individual differences and developmentally appropriate. Our philosophy regards the years of early childhood as being of crucial importance for the development of full adult potential in the areas of personality, emotional stability and intellectual growth. Every opportunity is provided for the individual child to flourish and grow in the healthiest possible environment. Our program is designed to provide intellectual stimulation and also practices and teaches human values and healthy attitudes. We, as educators, are receptive to change and are responsive to new theories in early childhood education. Our school makes a great effort to teach children to learn how to work and play both independently and cooperatively, and live effectively with other children.

My daughter loves to go to school, with her teachers she learned a lot, her primary language is spanish and she still learned English without any problem. They were always friendly and helped me with the early drop and after picking up.

Little Stars Three is the best preschool/learning center hands down!

When I began my search, several places turned me down when they learned that my son had just turned 2 and was dead smack in the middle of potty training. One afternoon, on a referral from a neighboring reputable preschool, the Director met with us. My son instantly fell in love with the people and the atmosphere - we were sold! Forget All State, he's been in great hands since his end of summer 2016 enrollment.

The Staff have a great rapport with each other and the parents, but most importantly the students. If there's any discord amongst themselves though, one would not know. I like that because as a parent, it comforts me to know that my child's education and productivity are first foremost.

The Director and Teachers are attentive and communicative. I also appreciate that the student to teacher ratio is 6:1 - for instance, my son's class has about 12 children on a busy day, with 2 teachers. I appreciate this because it allows the teachers to be hands on with all children for an array of things, ranging from breakfast to nap, play, meal and snack time, to activities and bathroom breaks. It also brings me comfort knowing that my child is adequately fed through out the day. At home he has a bottomless tummy *smile*, but I let him eat. At school, they honor his appetite without speculation or judgment. After school, he sing songs a list of his healthy meals and snacks!

Lastly, flexibility. Most days we arrive at school at 7am, picking him up between 5:30-6pm. These hours are a godsend, as my husband and I both have full time careers. All qualified staff pitch hit to make sure the school is well staffed at all times, and that the children aren't sitting around idle. There's always productivity when I walk in! And even some to take home, as homework is a must at least twice a week. I receive daily progress reports via parent teacher conversations and on paper.
Can't get more efficient that this!

I have had a HORRIBLE experience putting my child in this school for Pre-K.
First my daughter came home with scratches around ending of sept, I asked teacher they confirmed the kids were horse playing during reading time. Reading time is to stay still and read not play horsing around. Second they did not call me until I had to call to check on her. Everyday it was something. Finally they put a second teacher in the morning to help . 21 children and you have one teacher in the AM . She couldn't handle it. Then this afterschool teacher recently told me after 5:30 pm they will charge me $10 late fee. I was there at 5:45 , they want to charge me! that's $200 monthly on to the $300 a month for after school. Meanwhile when I applied for my child for this school two teachers told me its till 6pm. This afterschool teacher tells me to "call whoever I want " after I stated I will call the DOE to ask what is going to happen. "She stated she let me slide here and there when I came at 5:45p,. Meanwhile her daughter attends the same school she doesn't have to struggle at all. I hate rushing due to my Knee problems and they could care less about any of the parents schedule. I wasn't the only one complaining. Anyways I took her out, they don't watch the kids, they don't feed them " once a child says no: they give up, they do not teach them the correct things for pre-k and they do not call you when anything happens. Yes I know they are kids. and kids will be kids but cmon, I'm tired of going there and its always something. and now you want to take advantage with my money. Sorry but its not even worth it.

Overall

When my son started Little Stars 3 he had never been away from home causing him to have limited communication and socialization skills. He started Little Stars 3 in September of 2014 just after turning 3 years old and by November 2014 he was a changed little boy. He has blossomed into and sociable and highly verbal child who is excited about school, learning, his teachers, and friends. The staff is warm and inviting making a comfortable transition for our family. The environment is one of playful learning wherein children are not pushed to study instead grow and develop organically. I must point out Ms. B and Ms. K for their insight in identifying individualized milestones for each child and working diligently towards it. The advancements that my son has made in such a short time frame have superseded all our expectations and we are forever grateful. Little Stars 3 has truly been a blessing for our family and I give my highest recommendation on their services.
