On driving west of Tehachapi my car started making a strange noise. The "check engine" light didn't go on, but the noise continued when I went more than 45 mph. I saw the AutoZone store and pulled into the lot. Maybe someone there could help me. The man in charge asked a young employee to see to the problem. He found the problem almost immediately. The splash pan was hanging down, broken on one side, and hitting the street. He brought out two sets of screw drivers and spent about 15 minutes lying on the pavement unscrewing the bolts to set the pan free. He advised me to get the pan replaced ASAP before it rains since water could go up into the engine and mess things up there. I asked him how much for his labor and he said no charge, even after I insisted his time was worth something. So congratulations to AutoZone for hiring an employee who was willing to help someone far from home. I'm sorry I didn't get his name.

Riding dirt bikes for a few days in the desert then as we make our way home, our truck chargers failed us! We stopped in this place and they hooked us up with a triple charger! 3 out of 5 of us were happy!
