Dental Care
At Reed Animal Hospital we offer two types of dental cleaning: Comprehensive dental cleaning which uses anesthesia and non-anesthesia dental cleaning. The pet’s dental health will determine which type of cleaning is best suited for your pet.

Parasites Treatment and Control
In the early stages, heartworm disease may not cause any symptoms. As it progresses, one of the first signs could be a mild cough. Behavioral Disorder Treatment

Arthritis Treatment
The goal of a TPLO surgery is to make the tibial plateau perpendicular to the long axis of the bone. Performed correctly, it will prevent the shin bone(tibia) from moving forward. After the surgery, the stifle will feel stable and the dog will be able to put weight on the leg. This procedure is highly successful in returning our beloved dogs to their normal active selves (usually within a few months) and preventing crippling osteoarthritis later in life.

Our team of veterinarians and technicians are exceptionally trained in patient monitoring under anesthesia. We monitor all of our surgical patients by assessing blood pressure, the percentage of oxygen in the blood (pulse oximetry), respiratory rate, ECG (electrocardiogram), and more.

Cancer Treatment

The type and severity of the tumor will determine the type of treatment plan, which may include surgery, chemotherapy or radiation.

Dental Surgery

Veterinary Surgery
TPLO, or Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy, is a very common orthopedic surgery performed on dogs. The surgery is done to stabilize the knee joint if there is a rupture of the Cranial Cruciate Ligament. This procedure is unique to our pets and is considered the optimal repair of an injured knee joint ligament.
Spaying and Neutering
Neutering provides major health benefits for your male. Besides preventing unwanted litters, neutering your male companion prevents testicular cancer and prostate problems. Aggressive behavior is lessened, reducing the incidence of injury and the “lost dog syndrome.”

Laboratory Services
Heartworms in cats have a much shorter lifespan as cats have smaller and fewer heartworms present. In cats finding microfilaria in the blood is uncommon which is why blood tests are not given routinely before getting the medication. There is no effective treatment in cats to kill heartworms. This is why prevention is the best course for cats and dogs. Treating your dog for heartworm infection can be a severe medical risk. Prevention in both dogs and cats is our primary goal. The expense of treatment far outweighs the cost of prevention.
X-Ray
Dental Radiology
We offer comprehensive dental care including complete teeth cleaning, oral surgery (mass excisions, tooth extractions), and treatments of oral diseases. If dental x-rays are needed, we utilize our digital dental x-ray, which provides excellent detail for evaluating all aspects of the tooth and jaw. Preventative dental care is enhanced by a non-anesthetic dental cleaning and polishing option.
Microchipping
Among the shelter animals that had microchips, but were not reunited, it was found that most had outdated or no owner information registered with their chips. That’s why it’s important to keep your contact information updated.
