Great Local Resource

My husband and I have been customers at Canton Jewelry since we moved to the area 5 years ago. What a great local jewelry store- great turn around time on both repairs and special orders. If they don't stock something, they will take the time to find it for you and get it delivered very quickly. Very convenient.

I have known Ali Aydin, owner of Canton Jewelry for several years and he has always been shown to be honest, trustworthy in all our dealings. Anytime I need anything related to fine jewelry and or repairs, his business is the first place I go to and or recommend to all my friends.

HORRIBLE SERVICE & HORRIBLE MERCHANDISE. I brought my high-end watch to Canton Jewelry for a battery replacement. Two days after the battery replacement, my watch was very badly damaged due to moisture. I noticed that the watch caseback was not replaced correctly, which resulted in water getting inside the watch and rusting out all of the parts. I brought the watch back to the owner and pointed out that the caseback was put back on upside down. The owner asked to see the damage, took off the caseback piece, dropped it on the ground, and then told me that sometimes water just starts getting inside watches with no reason. (Interesting, since I'd owned the watch for five years and never had a problem until HE touched it.) He then offered me a discount on repairs to clean up the rusted out face and components, which were a result of his own incompetence, and he was rude when I refused the ridiculous offer. I sent the watch to the manufacturer for repairs, which will cost me $880.00.

TERRIBLE customer service

I took my watch in to have the battery replaced. I went to pick it up the next day and the owner told me the battery he put in was bad and the watch didn't work so he had me come back the next day after he put in another battery. I went back the next day to pick up the watch. Later that day, one of the arms on the watch fell off and the the watch stopped working completely. I took it back to the jewelry store and told him what happened. I told him that the watch had worked fine before I brought it in and when I get it back, an arm falls off and the watch doesn't even keep time anymore. Then he says "we'll have to send it off somewhere to be repaired, we can't do it here." There was no "I'm sorry, we'll take care of that for you" or "I'm sorry for the inconvenience and we'll have it repaired for you." I told him it worked fine before I brought it to him and I certainly didn't break the watch while he had it and he has the nerve to reply "neither did I." To me it was simple: watch working but needs new battery, take to store to get new battery; pick up watch after battery replaced and the arm falls off and watch stops working completely = store broke watch and is responsible to repair. It was obvious he was more interested in alleviating himself of any responsibility than he was of finding a way to satisfy him customer, so I just grabbed the watch and walked out. Customer service at its worst. I recommend you choose one of the many other jewelry stores in the area for you needs.
