Cat Specialist

I do not know what I would do without the entire staff at the Cat Specialist. Julep is 17.5 years old and was having issues and Dr. Lavallee knew what to do and for the past few months she is a different kitty! She was lethargic, throwing up, bad joints and stools but after a month or so on the right meds she is bright eyed, active, loving and not getting sick and her stools are so much better. The entire staff (Holly, you as well) always treat us as family. Going to a place that knows "cats" is so important. I recommend them to all the people I know. Thank you so much for helping Julep (& Spook)!

Cat Specialist has cared for our two cats since 1999. The staff are exceptionally compassionate and understanding of their patients. We couldn't be more pleased with the care Puss and Pouss have received. Wouldn't consider going anywhere else.

Going to the vet used to be a miserable experience for both BonBon and myself . . . and then we found Cat Specialist! They prescribed a medication to help with BonBon's car sickness, then were sweet and gentle, and they cleaned up her carrier when we arrived when she had an accident (thank you!). She likes to hunker in the sink in the exam room, but nonetheless seems much less stressed here. I will only take my kitty here!

I am truly grateful to Cat Specialist for the help they have given me and my family. I inherited two sick cats when my father died, and thanks to Dr. Olson they are now happy healthy little critters. I was very impressed with how quickly we were able to get what they needed done. For example, Ricky needed a dental and MANY tooth extractions. This was identified during his first visit, and they just went ahead and did bloodwork, heart screening, and the dental the same day. This was wonderfully efficient and saved us from cat herding to return on a separate day. And Miss Lucy had almost daily vomiting. An ultrasound later and we found intestinal disease that she is now being treated for . . . and we aren't cleaning cat vomit off the carpets any more! We are very happy customers!

Simply put - I have always received professional and compassionate care for my cats here. I would recommend them to everyone :) Also, it's nice to be able to pick-up and drop-off for boarding on Saturdays!

Dr. Olson has taken care of my cats for over a decade. Examples of the excellent care he has always provided are too numerous to list in their entirety. With various cats, we have been through heart problems, kidney failure, liver disease, cancer and a host of less serious illnesses. Dr. Olson's diagnostic skills are top-notch. He combines the art and science of veterinary medicine using the latest technology, keen observation, careful history taking, methodical exploration of possibilities and plain common sense. One of my cats lived to be 21 years old and another to 19. Both enjoyed additional quality years because of Dr. Olson's diagnostic and treatment skills. Plus, he truly loves cats and it shows. From Dr. Olson's unassuming manner, you would never suspect that he is a nationally renowned feline specialist and has written publications and book chapters. He has a great "bedside manner" and like to teach cat owners how to manage their cats' illness at home. When one of my older cats died in her sleep and again when another had to be euthanized, Dr. Olson and his staff were wonderful. I could not have asked for more caring, compassionate and understanding people. The staff is helpful, returns calls promptly, issues reminders, and follows through with whatever is requested of them. I recommend Cat Specialist without reservation.

My kitty got sick (read: profuse vomiting) while our regular vet was out of town, so we were in a hurry to have her seen. We got an appointment the same day and I was impressed with the place - enough to write a review at least. While it may not be the cheapest vet, I felt there was value in the service. It seemed like Dr. Olson did reasonable but not excessive tests (I was worried about that from a specialist). He personally called the next day to report results and shared all of the records with our regular vet. Overall, pleasant experience and my kitty is better now!

I just had to move away from Colorado, and sadly that meant leaving Dr. Olson and the wonderful staff at Cat Specialist. They have taken care of our kitty Pico since he was a kitten. He had a few injuries and illnesses over the years and I have always been able to get an appointment promptly, the staff is warm and caring, and Dr. Olson never makes us feel rushed. When Pico had an ultrasound - we got to see the photos! Basically, if you are lucky enough to be within driving distance of this place, take your four-legged family member there . . . you won't regret it!

Hands down, best vet we've ever been to. This place is special and Dr. Olson will be our vet for life. He has given our Max wonderful care for his kidney disease! The staff is caring/warm, the building is clean, and the service is excellent - we never feel rushed! Our whole family has learned a lot more about cats and kidney disease thanks to the whole team at Cat Specialist. You can trust 'em with the routine day to day stuff but when the chips are down, there's nobody I'd rather have taking care of Max! Also, prices are reasonable for the high standard of medicine!
