I moved to NC from PA. I was diagnosed with Bi-Polar and never understood why? My first visit was comprised of standard questions to populate a new patient chart. I had a few questions for the doctor. One of those questions was regarding my bi-polar diagnosis. My diagnosis from my previous doctor in PA occurred during my divorce. The doctor explained that I may have been misdiagnosed because a mixture of extreme anxiety and some mild ADD could be confused as manic episodes of bi-polar. I had been off the non-therapeutic dose of Depakote for almost a year before coming to East Over. It was not recommended to go back on the Depakote and the doctor is treating my anxiety with medication. I am very happy. I am thinking about going to talk therapy. I have not met with any counselors yet.
