Based in Chazy, N.Y., Chazy Orchards is one of the leading growers of McIntosh apples in the Northeast. Established in 1929, it rents about 600 colonies of honey bees to cause pollination of the blossoms for varieties that are self sterile. The company is one of the pioneers in commercial controlled atmosphere storage for McIntosh. Chazy Orchards offers its clients a number of products of different types, such as Paula red, McIntosh, Cortland as well as honeycrisp.
