Jayhawk Exteriors

We had Jayhawk Exteriors Inc replaced our roof, gutter and siding in 2009. Shortly after that, part of siding fell off. We had them fixed it. Then the suppsedly non clogged gutter clogged. This almost caused damaged crawl space because rain water was going right into the crawl space and causing high moisture. We had it fixed. More siding fell off after that. Now 2016, 7 years later, we have leaks in our ceiling in the living room. When I called Jayhawk Exteriors Inc to ask if they would come and fix it, their unfriendly receptionist told me that we were way passed the warranty period and they would not do repairs. (Even though their website states "Even if problems of workmanship arise after the workmanship warranty has lapsed; a reliable contractor usually will want to stand behind his work") If you are thinking of choosing Jayhawk Exteriors Inc to work on your house, you may end up like us within 10 yrs. Luckily I found a great roofer who are so courteous and tried to fix the leak right away. They found some gaps in sidings and sealed the several parts of the roof. Jayhawk Exteriors Inc did not do what they were supposed to do when they installed our roof. We had a crack in the ceiling in a bedroom 7 years ago and that was the reason we had our roof replaced by Jayhawk exterior Inc. We had a heavy storm from Hurricane Matthew. The bedroom ceiling was leaking from the crack and it got worse. There may be some wood damage and we probably end up having the roof re-do. The drywall on the ceiling definitely needs to be replaced now. The roof was supposed to last for 30 years! That's what Jayhawk Exteriors Inc told us. Jayhawk Exteriors Inc also says on their website "Roofing projects are usually a once-in-a-lifetime experience for most homeowners. Jayhawk Exteriors wants to make that time as comfortable as possible." This is not our case. So be careful. I do not recommend Jayhawk Exteiros Inc.

Part 2 of 3. The next day we made final payment and were waiting for the warranty paper work. Three days after install, a friend stopped by (new set for eyes) and notices a defect. I called Mr. Kip, explained what the defect was and asked him to stop by. His reply was, your house has a lot of bends and some pieces my not fit right. But, he earlier stated that the bends his company made were his trademark. So, in essence, he misrepresented his company and his product. Two days later, I called him back to see when he was coming by. He assured me he would but he was in the middle of a roofing job. Another excuse he gave was he did not want to come on my property without permission and the catch all...he was lost! Now, Mr. Kip had come to my home on at least three different occasions but now he was lost. His installers performed all of the work when my wife and I were out of town so what is the difference?
