Established in 1946, the Housing Authority of the County of Cook, also known as HACC, offers a range of housing services. It serves more than 100 communities of Cook County, Ill. The authority offers rent assistance programs for low-income individuals. The Housing Authority of the County of Cook serves more than 12,000 families, senior citizens and people with disabilities. The authority also conducts mobility assistance, family self-sufficiency and home ownership programs. It operates human resources and administration departments. The authority participates in a variety of community events. The Housing Authority of the County of Cook maintains a location in Chicago Heights, Ill.
