Great historic shop in a fun location.
Artists are super friendly faces and are happy to be doing tattoos. Whether you're looking for a custom piece of work or decide on a whim you want to get tattooed as a walk-in, they are accommodating on all aspects. They're well rounded in all styles, although I would definitely say this is a Traditional Tattoo Collector's haven. (Founded by Mike Malone, who worked with Sailor Jerry, Ed Hardy, and tons of staple tattooers over the years. The history here is insane.) I'd promise that it's safe to say from an infinity knot to a half sleeve, your finish product will be great and last you a lifetime.
They honor the neighborhood by doing their famous "$20 Tuesday" which is a choice of four different fonts, up to seven letters, on the arms, legs, and upper back ONLY. You won't beat that quality of work for that price anywhere else, straight up. They also partake in Friday the 13th every time it rolls around, having hundreds of predrawn designs to choose from, for $20 as well.
((I noticed some complaining on some prior reviews from people who went in on that day and may not even of gotten tattooed. Geez, you're going to complain about a $20 Tattoo's Limitations? Cheapskate knuckleheads if I do say so myself.))
They are fair on prices compared to many other shops in Chicago with a $60 Minimum, which is the ongoing rate for any true established tattoo parlor. Remember, cheap tattoos aren't good and good tattoos aren't cheap.
Tons of traveling Tattooers from all over the world also stop in frequently and make tattoos out of there. You can probably find that information on their IG or FB.. I know you know what those abbreviations mean, ha!
Taylor Street Tattoo was one of the first shops I ever had a tattoo hard on over... I'm heavily tattooed and I will always recommend this shop to the people of Chicago as well as to tourists looking for a permanent souvenir on their visit.
The location is easy to get to whether you are driving or hitting public transportation. The neighborhood has tons of great places to eat at and check out as well. It's worth the stop in alone.

Here's a rating relative to customer service - I called to ask about having piercing jewelry swapped out. The person I spoke with rather arrogantly and nonchalantly told me that they don't do piercing anything there; that he didn't have anything to change it to (I have my own jewelry); and that he was a tattoo artist and didn't deal with piercings. No helpful attitude here . . . if he is not the owner, I hope the owner reads this review.

This place is nice I'll give them that, but $62 just to get my tongue pierced I think not. Its on the tattoo side, but they won't be getting any money from me.
