Jb's Garage

I dropped my car off because it didn't have heat, JB's told me it was a thermostat housing leaking coolant and fixed it for $167.00. When I picked the car up it ran great and had heat. The next day on the way to work the heat quit again. I dropped it off at Jb's and they told me it was a plugged heater core and that it would be $65.00 to flush it. I received a phone call from JB's counter girl saying that the heater core was flushed and that now there was a freeze plug leak and to fix it the transmission would have to come out and it would cost 500.00 plus the 65.00 for the flush.

About a week later I got another call from JB's stating that they pulled out the transmission and the freeze plugs were like new. That it was actually the water pump which is timing chain driven and that to fix it the motor would have to come out and that and that he would not be able to fix it right away because he had to work on other customers cars. He also told me that normally it would cost 1700.00 to fix it but that he would only charge me the 565.00 since he misdiagnosed it in the first place.

Over 2 weeks went by and I hadn't heard back, so I called and was told that the car was apart and wouldn't be put back together until I dropped off the payment. I dropped off the payment and the car was fixed over a week later.

I picked the car up and noticed that on the freeway the car would not shift into overdrive. I went to get off the freeway and the car stalled on the exit ramp, and would not start. I walked to call and get a ride and when I got back the car had been impounded( it was in the intersection) 260.00 to get the car out of impound had the code checked and it is a timing/water pump related code. I called JB's and they will not fix the car.

I am new to town and when I asked the women at the gym where to take my car for repair they all said "JB's!" I was involved in a minor hit and run and was concerned there could be damage. I also thought i was due for brakes.James did a thorough checkup and assured me there was nothing wrong with my car and charged me only for the oil change I asked for. He is a great guy and an honest mechanic. What's not to love? I wish I could give him 10 stars.
