General Info: Horace W. Porter School serves the educational needs of students in grades kindergarten through eight. It offers educational programs in fine arts, health and physical education, math, English, computer technology, Spanish and French. Its arts education comprises various disciplines, including production and performance, history, criticism and aesthetics. The school s instrumental music program covers band instruments, such as flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, French horn, baritone horn and percussion. Its life skills program enables students to develop decision making skills through exploratory activities. The school serves nutritious lunch to its students. It has athletic teams in soccer, basketball, baseball, softball and track and field. It also provides several extracurricular activities include chess club and math Olympiad. Horace W. Porter School is located in Columbia, Conn.
