The National Watch & Clock Museum is not that far from my home. I have driven by it my whole life.
Today, I finally took the time to visit and boy was I surprised.
The receptionist was pretty sluggish and non-welcoming ut thankfully she was not indicative of the contents of this museum.
My experience started by taking in the 10 minute intro movie (don't miss it!) and then a lap around the 4 or 5 displays in the lobby. The museum itself is HUGE and has more to see than you can see in one full day. My 3 hour visit was a good amt of time to see the things that most interested me.
There are some stunning works of art here and even if you have no interest in clocks you will surely be able to find a connection to the historical, artistic or mechanical works found here.
The hands on displays needed a little work (low on sand, low on water) but still worked. Many of the clocks are running and the cacophony at noon was amazing.
I highly recommend checking out this museum - its right off Rt 30 and has discount coupons in all of the local "entertainment" books.
Tick tock!
