Overpriced, and You Leave Feeling Cheated

I visited this facility twice. The first time I went for a simple check-up. I was told that I needed new brake pads (which I did need), and new brake rotors (which are very expensive, and very infrequently replaced - certainly not on a car with roughly 50,000 miles). I had them do the work, and I brought my old rotors home after they were replaced to show them to my dad (who is knowledgeable on cars and car parts). He was shocked - he said that they absolutely were in good condition and did not need to be replaced in their near perfect condition. I KEPT the old rotors, because they are still good.

The second time was worse. I went to repair my car, which was leaking oil, and to get a 10,000 mile check-up. Aside from the fact that the work was completely overpriced, I was told I needed to replace EVERYTHING, when at the end of the day, they only needed to fix one part. (I had them go through every item on the $3500 estimate, line by line, to be sure that they were not doing anything unnecessarily). The visit still ended up costing me $1200 (we cut out a lot of unnecessary work and parts). I was told that if the work took more than one day, they would cover the second day of my rental car. When I arrived to pick up my car on the SECOND DAY, they told me that they could no longer offer me the "rental car discount" because the had already offered me a different "discount" (i.e., they gave me a 'first time customer' discount that they had 'forgotten' to give me on my first visit to their facility). The rental car fee was $25. They did not pay for it. I argued, and told them that they had made a promise, and they did not honor it.

One month after I had the car repaired there, my A/C stopped working entirely. This time I went to a different garage. They told me that whoever had put in the new A/C filter had put it in BACKWARDS. The new garage was nice enough not to charge me for fixing the problem that GERMAN CAR CARE HAD CAUSED.

By far - this place is the biggest rip-off in Dade county (and that says a lot). They do poor quality work, they are completely overpriced, they do work that your car absolutely does not need, and they don't honor their service promises.

I highly recommend you go elsewhere (Goodyear Auto Service Center is nearby and they do excellent work - they fixed the A/C that German Car Care improperly installed).
