Dr. Garrett Gast is a San Francisco, California, native. He is a graduate of the University of Oregon and the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco. After graduating from dental school, he completed a residency in Advanced General Dentistry and was awarded Outstanding Resident of the Year. Dr. Gast’s father is an orthodontist, so dentistry has been a life-long passion for him. Dr. Gast has extensive experience in family and cosmetic dentistry, crowns, veneers, clear aligners, implants, root canals, dentures and complex dental cases. He enjoys treating patients of all ages in a patient-friendly and comfortable environment. In his spare time, Dr. Gast enjoys spending time outdoors with his family.

My experience has always been very pleasant! Allison, my hygienist, is very friendly and gentle. I have been going to the Springhurst office for years. Can never understand why people don’t like going to the dentist as my visits are always enjoyable. Dr. Scott Boatwright has done several crowns for me and is equally pleasant and gentle. He always explains the process and is mindful of his patients well being.

Root Canal Treatment
I love these guys. The entire experience could not be more pleasant. Staff is skilled and keeps things light hearted. Dr. Koval is a magician with the anesthesia. I’ve had multiple pain-free root canals. Best of the best.

Dr. Hamzah Mehmood (Dr. Mood) graduated from Rutgers University, where he received his degree in biology. He then obtained his Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. He holds memberships with the Indiana Dental Association, American Academy of General Dentistry and American Association of Women Dentists. Dr. Mood has a passion for aesthetic dentistry and is proficient in oral surgery and prosthodontics. His mission in his dental career is based on a quote he lives by, “Giving is a huge part of life and you don’t need to be rich to be charitable. Your happiness is worth more than anything you will ever own. So even a smile can be charity.”

Dr. Emily Clark was introduced to dentistry while volunteering at a nonprofit dental clinic in her hometown of Rochester, Minnesota. From that experience, she knew she wanted to be a dentist. She attended the University of Minnesota where she received her Bachelor of Science in chemistry before moving on to dental school. Dr. Clark says what she enjoys most about being a dentist is getting to know her patients and helping them improve their smiles by either easing their pain or improving their self confidence. She has lived in Minnesota and Alabama, loves all things football, and even though she roots for Minnesota teams, her soon-to-be husband is a graduate and employee at the University of Louisville, so she’s also a Cards fan — go Cards! Dr. Clark is Invisalign certified and always looking for ways to expand her dental knowledge and skills. In her spare time, she loves to play golf, do yoga, travel, try new restaurants, cook and chase after her two dogs, Bella and Dina.

Teeth Whitening
They did a fantastic job cleaning my teeth, and recommended some great whitening options for my super-sensitive teeth. They went over my treatment plan and worked with my schedule and budget to keep my mouth healthy.
Cosmetic Dentistry
Dr. Sarah Sukhorukov is originally from Gainesville, Florida, and received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Florida. She then moved to Louisville, Kentucky to attend dental school at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. While attending, she met her future husband, Alex, who is also a dentist. Together they have two children — daughter Milana and son Dimitry. Dr. Sarah worked as a dental assistant for two years while obtaining her undergraduate degree which is what immediately sparked her interest in dentistry. She loves all aspects of dentistry — especially cosmetic dentistry — and prides herself in developing strong lifelong relationships with her patients. In her spare time, Dr. Sarah enjoys spending time with her family which she says is what is most important to her as well as Salsa dancing, reading, traveling, cooking, volunteering and exercising.
General Dentistry
Dr. Mina Iskander is originally from Egypt, where he received his Bachelor of Dental Surgery from October 6 University before obtaining his diploma in oral and dental surgery from Cairo University. While working on his diploma, he was also a general dentist at Egyptian military clinics. He most recently received his Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. Dr. Iskander has over 20 years of dental experience which includes performing general dentistry, oral surgeries, being educated in oral immunology and infectious diseases, and receiving numerous recognitions and awards. In 2023, he received the Pierre Fauchard Academy Certificate of Merit, which is presented for outstanding and dedicated service to the dental profession. He has served for multiple dental missions in underserved communities in Uganda, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Malesia, Bangladesh, and Liberia, and is bilingual. Dr. Iskander has two children and in his spare time enjoys fixing cars and fishing.
