We called a few days ahead of time to seat a birthday party of 20 people. We were told "no problem." Upon arrival we were seated immediately. The restaurant is clean and has a nice atmosphere. That was the good part.
Once seated, most of our party was chatting while they looked over their menus. The server came to our table and in a rude tone, notified us to "Listen up because I'm not going to repeat myself!" She proceeded to tell us about the specials and what veggie sides were available. Lacks class.
Then, while waiting for our food, she delivered two tiny baskets, each containing about 8 hush puppies. We were told that there would be no more, because there were no more.
I had country fried steak, which was obviously pre-frozen from a Sam's brand box, rather than fresh made. The gravy was jar gravy.
We asked about the Award winning desserts we had seen advertized on the web site and on the wall where you walk in. Only one was available, a cherry concoction mounted atop a fried biscuit. No other dessert was available. Vanilla ice cream to top the dessert? Out.
Also, whoever cooked the fish was NOT the award winning one advertized.
Worst thing of all was the sweet tea. In a southern restaurant, the tea should be fresh, sweet, and memorable. This tasted unsettlingly like the water that we fish out of. Outside, a few other diners were leaving, and they asked me "Have you ever tasted tea that bad before?"
The server was overall helpful and no one had to wait long for their entrees. I can understand being a little short once in a while. Anyone can have a bad day. But for a restaurant to run out of many items, especially when they know in advance a large party is coming in, is uncalled for. We travel the lakes frequently, and dine everywhere, but we will definitely avoid this one again.

If you're on the lakes you have to try this place! Hard to believe you can get such great food out there. Owners are very friendly and personally manage operations. We drive out there from Summerville all the time just for their incredible steaks. Seafood is delicious too.
