Torrez Construction LLC

BEWARE: John Torrez (owner) has no idea how to run a business, is a terrible communicator and demonstrated zero character in my experience with him. His crew completed a project earlier in the year (but never entirely finished) and made arrangements for his company to start another project in August. Here we are October 6th and I managed to squeeze ~3 days worth of work before they finally picked up their tools...without ever saying they were done.

The least John could have done was let us know two months ago they were too busy or not interested to do our project. He knew we had other trades scheduled after him, he knew I needed this completed before our son arrived last Friday....he just didn't care. This would have given us enough time to find another company before the weather starts to turn. Instead, he strung us along on a regular basis saying he'd be there tomorrow and then never show up, or let you know he wasn't coming. THEN out of pity he'd send a guy just to show some kind of progress every couple weeks.

Is John the cheapest guy out there? Yes. However, this is the classic example of "you get what you pay for". John's problem is likely that he can't tell people no and puts himself in a situation where he's working on too many projects at once, and just throws guys around to make customers feel like there's progress.

Shame on me for letting it ever get to this point. I should have fired this guy months ago. Good riddance. Again, BEWARE to anyone considering Torrez Construction LLC. This is the absolute worst experience I've ever had with a trade. I guess this is what you get with a guy in his 20's that thinks he can can build something other than a barn. Spend a few more bucks and find a company that's organized, pays attention to detail and actually cares about what they do and the people they work for.
