Dr. Stern joined Rheumatology Associates in July of 2003. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, Dallas, Texas. Dr. Stern has undergraduate degrees in psychology, biochemistry, and biology from the University of North Texas. He graduated from the Physician Assistant program at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in 1980 and practiced as a Physician Assistant in the field of orthopedics until he went back to medical school in 1994. Dr. Stern received his medical degree from University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in 1998. He then completed an Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at Parkland Hospital and the Dallas VA Medical Center followed by a fellowship in Rheumatology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He won a fellowship grant to work with Dr. Fredrick Wolfe and Dr. Theodore Pincus studying the Remicade usage patterns in private practice in Dallas for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis which was published in the Journal of Rheumatology. Dr. Stern is Board Certified in Internal Medicine with sub-specialty certification in Rheumatology and is a Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology, American College of Physicians, and the American Medical Association.
