It focuses on enhancing healthy development of families through specialized services that promote safe, stable, and nurturing environments. Founded in 1888, Children and Families of Iowa serves more than 15,000 at-risk families, individuals and children in over 80 counties in Iowa. The agency is a member organization of United Way and is a charter member of the Children's Home Society of America. It is also approved by the Council on Accreditation for Children and Family Services.
