World Tile Imports

Our company did work for Tom Roberts and he had to be chased down for payment, then his check bounced and we have been chasing him ever since. He is unprofessional and scattered. He talks the talk but he doesn't walk the walk. He is rude to his sub contractors, does not stick to one job but spreads himself too thin the expects the contractors to pick up his slack.

I recommend staying away from this guy, his store and his contracting business.

I would just like to note that the owner Tom Roberts is a crook and doesn't pay his workers. He will also get a start up check from you and basically run with your money. I do not recommend hiring this guy. His longest employee is about for a month before they get fed up with him from lack of respect and pay. WTI is defiantly not a good choice for home remideling...take it from my experience

I hired the owner of "World Tile Imports", Thomas Roberts, as a general contractor and it turned out one of my biggest mistakes and very frustrating experience.

He did not provide a contract, he missed all deadlines that we agreed upon, it took long time and endless calls and reminders just to get him to deliver the materials that I purchased from "World Tile Imports". He never provided receipts for any of the materials that I purchased despite of my endless request. However, we asked all the money up front. He damaged my new appliance that I had bought but never admitted it. Whenever he missed another deadline, he never provided any explanations, did not pick up the phone and got out of touch.

4 months later the work was not finished and I ended up firing him. After I fired him, he told all sub- contracts that I did not pay him and that was the reason he could not pay sub-contractors. The true is that I paid him more than 80% of total amount.

The worst thing is that after I fired him, he went to Capital Lighting store (lighting fixtures store in East Hanover, NJ) and picked up the lighting fixtures on my behalf even though I paid for it and I never asked him to pick them up. He basically stole them. I am in the process of pursuing legal actions against him. This is absolutely unacceptable and illegal.
