Not only will it help you control your weight gain during your pregnancy and your weight loss after pregnancy, but it will also help minimize stretch marks. But more importantly, exercise will help you ensure that you are healthy and fit. The healthier you are during pregnancy, the less likely that you will have a difficult pregnancy. The fitter you are, the easier your childbirth experience will be.
Pediatric Care
In 2018, the Minnesota legislature passed a new policy (Minnesota Statute 62J.812) which requires the prices for certain health care procedures be made available to patients. If any provider in your clinic specializes in family medicine, general internal medicine, gynecology, or general pediatrics you must comply with this statute. Beginning July 1, 2019, the state of Minnesota is requiring providers to maintain the list on their website.

Megan joined OGI in 2016. She became a PA in 2010 and worked in family practice before moving to inpatient Gynecology and Gynecology Oncology at the University of Chicago. She then worked at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN in Gynecologic Surgery/Oncology for 4 years. Her clinical interests continue to include surgery and cancer surveillance. In her free time, Megan enjoys trips to the lake, yoga and spending time with family and friends.
Urinary Incontinence
As a female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery physician – a urogynecologist – I specialize in conditions that affect the bladder, the bowel, and the reproductive organs. Common conditions my patients present with include urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic discomfort, and sexual discomfort.
Immunizations
According to the CDC, SMFM and ACOG, COVID-19 vaccination is recommended for all people 12 years and older, including people who are pregnant, breastfeeding, trying to get pregnant now, or might become pregnant in the future. There is currently no evidence that any vaccines, including COVID-19 vaccines, cause fertility problems in women or men. Recent studies have also shown that there is no increased risk of miscarriage in pregnant people who received COVID-19 vaccines. None of the COVID-19 vaccines available contain live virus so there is no way to get an infection from vaccination.

Joy was born and raised in the Twin Cities and lives in Minneapolis with her husband and kids. She enjoys cooking and eating, particularly anything Italian. Loves to travel, and is fascinated by other cultures and people. She enjoys conversation and language; and speaks both Spanish and Italian. She says that her passion for communication and people brought her into the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She has found great happiness promoting the health of women in the Twin Cities including special interest in adolescent, reproductive, and gynecologic health.

Sara joined OGI in 2017. She graduated in 2015 from Stony Brook University as a Nurse Practitioner in Perinatal and Women’s Health. Before joining OGI Sara lived and worked in New York as an WHNP managing patient’s gynecologic care and education. She also previously worked as an RN on the Labor and Delivery unit at NYU Medical Center and as a childbirth educator. Since starting her medical career, Sara has always known that women’s health was her calling. She is thrilled to now be at OGI to expand her practice.

She is a passionate Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner with over eight years of nursing experience in maternal and neonatal health. Dr. Katherine Jacobs began her Maternal Fetal Medicine career in 2014 after completing her medical school training in Texas and her Obstetrics/Gynecology residency and MFM fellowship at the University of Minnesota. She served as the chief administrative resident during her final year of residency. After fellowship she joined a practice in Fort Worth, Texas where she worked from 2014-2015 and then relocated back to Minnesota in 2015 to be closer to family. As assistant professor at the University of Minnesota in Maternal Fetal Medicine for 8 years, Dr. Jacobs, has been a passionate advocate of resident and fellow education. She served as the assistant fellowship program director, co-director of the OBGYN residency ultrasound rotation, and director of the fetal diagnosis and treatment center while at the University of Minnesota. She has received numerous teaching awards through the University of Minnesota and received recognition locally as a “Top Doctor” in Maternal Fetal Medicine.

Lindsay enjoys the full scope of OB/GYN practice, taking care of patients from adolescence through menopause and beyond. She is especially interested in minimally invasive surgery, infertility, and recurrent pregnancy losses, helping patients to come up with a personalized evaluation and treatment plan.
Robotic Surgery
Laparoscopic and Robotic surgery: A surgical procedure useful for the diagnosis and treatment of infertility, endometriosis and pelvic pain. This operation allows a direct view of the uterus, tubes, ovaries and pelvis in general.
Hysterectomy
Hysterectomy: An inpatient operation to remove a woman’s uterus. In some cases, the ovaries and fallopian tubes also are removed.
Endometrial Ablation
Endometrial Ablation: A procedure to treat the uterine lining and prevent heavy bleeding. After a successful endometrial ablation, most women will have little or no menstrual bleeding.
