Fantastic restaurant and easily one of the best values around in terms of franchised eatery.



Cheddars is now opening a new location much closer to us and we will do our best to become monthly if not weekly patrons. We found that it offers the same contemporary atmosphere as TGI Fridays, Charley, and Applebees where you don't necessarily have to order based on price. Drink prices are also very reasonable although we found that they have an overly strict limit of 2 drinks per customer which really cuts the night short. Still it is nice to get a Margarita with your dinner and not be surprised when the bill comes. The Margaritta's and mixed drink are always served and garnished to look beautiful. Alcohol content is hit or miss though as sometimes the pour is not strong enough and all you get is mix without the option of a re-pour . Also the prices on some menu items and drinks have risen in relation to inflation and the new Obamacare fee's imposed on restaurants. Although the price increase was incremental it is still worth mentioning but does not detract much.



Food has always been spot on. Steaks are made tor order in my experience and was able to get medium rare successfully on two occasions. Burgers on the other hand cannot be ordered anything below medium for liability reasons which is a bit of a downer. They are still gourmet though and very generous in portion size and condiments.



The fish always taste fresh and is never overcooked or charred. Appetizers are also delicious. One of the few places we actually order appetizers simply because they are so reasonable. Onion rings are our favorite as they are a tall order with delicious batter and always hot.



Wait times are minimal and getting a booth or seat at the bar is rarely an issue. The fish tank is well stocked and ambient lighting is neither too dull or bright. Very comfortable environment without noise pollution or under dressed customers.



Service can be hit or miss depending on when you go, and who you get. They enforce the 2 drink limit a bit too aggressively without explanation but it is their policy and cannot be faulted. Our orders have always been taken and delivered correctly. Wait times for food can be a bit on the slow time which encourages appetizers so no real problem there. Sometimes the staff may not be very outgoing or personable but we have never had any rude encounters to date. Drink refills are usually on the slow side as the cups are smaller size.



Overall it is one of our favorite places and an easy pick in a pinch for a fun Saturday night or couples date. Would recommend to anyone looking for a family friendly atmosphere without paying the higher prices or other local restaurants. If you do have a negative experience I suggest trying it again sometime later as I don't think Ive ever heard of anyone with an overtly bad scenario that couldn't be remedied as other reviews have stated.
