Dental Examination
New patients receive a comprehensive examination which includes a screening for oral cancer, gum and bone disease, blood pressure, and systemic disorders. A routine oral exam is performed on established patients to determine any changes in dental and health status since the previous visit.
X-rays
Panoramic x-rays offer patients a complete detailed image of the entire mouth including the teeth, jaw (upper and lower), sinuses, and TMJ.

Teeth Cleaning
My experience at this office is always fantastic. Today was a teeth cleaning with Karen. She is the best Denal Hygienist I've ever experienced. She is gentle, proficient and extremely nice. Sean Roth, DDS is the best dentist I've ever gone to for similar reasons. All of the staff I've encountered at this office have been a pleasure to be around. The office has state-of-the-art equipment and is spotless.

Fillings
Dr. Roth is a cosmetic dentist in Folsom. Dr. Roth offers proven technology that allows you to replace old silver and gold fillings with a more natural looking, composite filling. Composite fillings are bonded to the tooth and research has proven them to be about 90% as strong and healthy as natural tooth material.
Veneers
A veneer procedure is a popular cosmetic procedure. Porcelain is known as one of the best materials for aesthetic dental procedures, because it mimics tooth enamel very closely. Veneers are extremely thin (usually less than 0.5 mm thickness), giving them an enamel-like translucence creating a natural appearance. They are about as thick as a contact lens or a fingernail. Tooth preparation requires very little tooth alteration.
Crowns
To place a crown, your dentist must reduce 1-2 mm of the tooth to make room for it. Your dentist will then use a piece of thread or cord or use a laser to push the gum down around the tooth, to take an impression of the tooth. The impressions are sent to the lab where the crown is made. During that time, you will have a temporary crown. These crowns are usually made of plastic and are made in your dentist's office on the day of your visit. They are not meant to last. If a temporary crown is left in the mouth, the cement eventually washes out and the tooth can decay. At a second visit, your dentist will remove the temporary crown and test the permanent one. Sometimes crowns need additional polishing, glaze or some other adjustment before they are placed. Once the crown is ready, it's cemented to your tooth.
Bridges
An alternative to an implant is a fixed bridge. With this option, it is necessary to grind down the teeth adjacent to the space in order to have caps fit onto the ground down teeth. The caps hold a fake replacement tooth in the middle. With this approach, the ground down teeth are more subject to dental decay and root canals. Furthermore, the teeth are connected together making daily hygiene more challenging. Unlike an implant, the bridge offers no additional biting support.
Dental Bonding
Porcelain veneers are attached to your teeth using a dental bonding glue or cement. Although veneers are very thin, once bonded to your teeth they become strong. The process is fast and conservative. First, your teeth are prepared and impressions are sent to a dental laboratory along with the design for your new smile. Veneers may be recommended along with other cosmetic procedures in order to produce optimal results.

A root canal may be needed if the decay has reached the tooth's nerve. Essentially, a root canal involves cleaning out a tooth's infected root, then filling and sealing the canal..

Deep Cleaning
Dr. Roth and his staff are absolutely the best... due to previous painful dental experiences (all in the Bay Area) I have an extreme aversion to going to the DDS. NEVER has a trip to Dr. Roth's office been painful.. it's more me and my anxiety... For deep cleaning - scaling/plan ing - I had Pam, one of several Hygienists. She was and is GREAT.... I got thru it without novocaine. No post-headache or pain. Such a great staff...They know their stuff! Dr. Roth is kind and compassionate; explains everything and doesn't rush thru things. He is also very good about being accessible and in some situations will insist you come in to see him even after hours on a holiday weekend when he is on vacay (I know firsthand - that was how Dr. Roth became our DDS).

Dentures
At times, it is necessary for all teeth to be removed due to extensive periodontal disease and/or due to decay. An alternative for the replacement of all the teeth is a complete upper and/or lower denture. These dentures require support from your gum pad and many times require the use of dental adhesive. Throughout life, the dentures require constant adjustment and refitting, and can cause the jaw bone to melt away making the dentures loose and once again requiring continuous adjustment.
