Really great Mom and Pop store that care about the animals. The dogs come from USDA regulated facilities which means the parents of the puppies are well cared for. The prices of everything are cheaper than you can find anywhere

My review from other sites keeps getting deleted. I really feel the need to share that buying a puppy from Pet Kingdom was one of the biggest regrets I have ever had. As you can see from the other reviews, the store is nice, fun even, but none of these people purchased a pet while they were there. They just enjoy the scenery. They also now charge $2 to enter the store on the weekends. Yeah.. an entrance fee for a pet store. It is catchy and helps distract you from the terrible condition of most of the animals, specifically the puppies. If they did make a purchase, they would know that they get their puppies from a broker named Lambriar, who transports them via semi-truck to many other stores in the area, including Petland. I found the dog that I was looking for and I was asking questions. I was told Lambriar was the breeder.
This is not the truth, they buy from breeders and resell nationwide and have a very poor reputation. I wish I stopped to research this. As we were paying, the salesclerk was sure to let me know that they made commission and that she was putting someone else's name on the sale because she was salaried. Glad to know they care about animals here, oh wait, no just sales. The worst part of all is that the puppy came home with a severe case of kennel cough and giardia, two very common conditions for pet store pets and both very noticeable if you spend even 5 minutes with the puppy. I was very upset that I was not told about this. I have made three trips (60 miles round trip each) to their vet in Fort Myers, who spent more time selling me dog food than examining the dog. It is clear he enjoys his contract with them because he had the audacity to tell me I was lucky the puppy had kennel cough now because he would be stronger later and it is a good thing.
I watch this puppy have coughing fits two dozen times a day and he often gets nauseous. He sleeps most of the day. I have missed work for his vet visits, to pick up medicine and to watch him on the days he has been very bad. I have tried calling the pet store 3 times. I was told once that the manager would call me back. Four days later, I called because they never did and I was told there really was no manager for "that department". The person I spoke with the third time was supposed to get me the form for the microchip to be put into our name and they said they needed to find it from someone at Lambriar. It has been two weeks. This has been a really sad and upsetting processes and it is clear to me that they do not care for their animals or their customers. I will never enter this store again and I suggest you do the same. These are living things.

DON'T SHOP HERE!! I had a horrible experience with a bird purchase...I was not told the bird had a foot problem before the purchase. One of the birds feet was permanently curled under. This was not a small purchase-I paid $750 for the bird. I was told the bird was a healthy 28 year old Cockatoo who had been checked out by a vet. This was a lie. I took the bird to a vet who specializes in birds, and found out the poor bird was lacking in UV's, had a yeast infection, and the vet told me she was probably closer to the age of 40! The owner said I would need to take the bird to their vet to get a 2nd opinion, and basically called my vet a liar. Pet Kingdoms preferred avian vet is a liar! He told me what I wanted to hear, did not check the bird as thoroughly as my vet did, and then lied to Pet Kingdom about the supposed fecal exam that he DID NOT do. The whole transaction was shady, and I do not trust anyone there. It broke my heart to take the bird back to that horrible place, but I feel I was wronged, and all they wanted was to swipe the charge card and send us on our way as fast as possible. Aside from my horrible experience with them, it is disturbing that they keep the poor monkeys in a room, with no exposure to sunlight or the outoors, ever. In my opinion, it is a sad place, and normally I would've never made a purchase there, but we fell in love with the cockatoo and made an impulse decision I will always regret. I did get a full refund in the end, but I am saddened that the bird was the one to have to go back to that place. This place needs to be put out of business.

This pet store is so horrible. Their animals are so ill and kept in ways that are completely inhumane and abusive. There is a poor sphynx kitty there, for example, that is skin and bones. He looks so sad and unhealthy. He is used for breeding. The shop refuses to sell him so that they can continue to make money off of him, leaving him condemned to a life in a cold and empty cage. So far, he has lived like that for at least 3 years. It is so inhumane and heartbreaking.
One of the owners, Charlotte Hornsby, tried to tell me that he is her personal pet, well loved and cared for, and that she brings him to the shop daily so that others can observe and enjoy him. Right. Who brings their personal cat away from home everyday, and puts him in a cage for display? That lie sounds just as abusive as the real story to me. Meanwhile, an employee told me this cat is not her personal pet, and that every night, he is put in back with the female sphynx in yet another cage. They have no blankets, no toys, no room to run around, no love.
If you care about animals at all, please DO NOT shop at this Pet Kingdom. Read the many horror stories that have been reported: http://www.consumeraffairs.com/pets/pet_kingdom_fl.html
If you want a special breed, please go online, do your research and find a loving breeder who puts their heart and soul into taking care of their animals. Please, let's put an end to businesses like Pet Kingdom. Do not give them any of your money.

My wife and I used to enjoy going into pet kingdom, where we would gawk at the unusual animal varieties and purchase the occasional thousand dollar puppy. My wife and I stopped in on a Monday afternoon with hopes to purchase a 5 month old pug we had heard about. We asked one of the employees for some information about the pug. She was very kind and seemed very knowledgeable. While we were strolling about trying to make up our minds about the $800 pug puppy, the owners son ( who I suppose, is also an owner) charged up to my wife and snatched her plastic iced tea cup out of her hand. " can I throw this away for you?" he said with disgust, adding, " your not suppose to have drinks here!" my wife and I had been there almost an hour and no one informed us of this policy. I completely understand why they do not allow drinks in this setting, however the way in which this rule was informed troubled my wife and I. When we spoke to the cashier about the incident which left my wife shaken, she apologized for her bosses behavior, and said " he gets like that, he can be aggressive." wow, just the type of person who should be taking care of animals. Let's stop flowing money into this aggressive jerk's pocket. I'll purchase my overpriced puppies elsewhere.

I love this place! My husband and I go once a month to pet puppies, hold birds and soak in the atmosphere. One day we held a puppy that we couldn't put down, and made him a family member of our home. We've bought hamsters and fish there too. The new look of this place wil blow you away.

I found the store to be very unpleasant. The puppies were very lethargic and seemed to be unhealthy. To add to everything the store was messy and had a stentch to it.
