Mr. Hawk is a general practitioner primarily involved in civil litigation with an emphasis in the areas of commercial litigation, business law, estate planning and litigation, municipal law, real estate transactions, creditors' rights and both personal injury and insurance defense litigation. He represents individuals, small to medium-sized business entities, personal representatives and guardians, insurance companies, foundations and governmental offices and agencies. He has significant experience in all aspects of litigation including mediation, arbitration, and trial. Mr. Hawk has also has significant experience in appellate matters having initiated and defended numerous civil appeals in state and federal court and having argued before the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
Probate is the legal process by which a person’s debts are paid and assets are distributed upon death. Lawyers refer to the entity that holds a deceased’s assets until those assets are distributed as an “estate.” Estate Administration includes the probate process as well as non-probate transfer of the deceased’s assets.
