Financial Services Department, located in Foster City, Calif., provides financial services to various operating departments and offers various community services. The department is responsible for the control of financial activities of the city, district and community development agency. It also provides disbursement of financial resources and ensures availability of resources. It offers various programs, such as the administration, the general accounting and utility accounting programs. The programs provide various services, such as cash management, budgeting, financial reporting, debt services administration and internal control and formulation of financial policy. Its general accounting program is responsible for accounts payable and receivables, payroll, cash receipts, collection of bad debts, maintenance of general ledger, preparation of bank reconciliation and controller's report. The department s taxes and licenses program is responsible for processing business license applications, collecting business license tax and accounting for general obligation bonds.
