The Franklin Fire Department is governed by the City of Franklin in New Hampshire. The department specializes in rescue, emergency medical and fire suppression services. It operates administration, fire alarm, and fire prevention and inspection divisions. The Franklin Fire Department is equipped with a boat, ambulance, utility vehicle and heavy rescue truck. The department also offers emergency rescue services during water, ice and vehicle accidents. Its fire alarm division is responsible for the maintenance of the municipal fire alarm signal system that was established in 1896. The Franklin Fire Department additionally specializes in the enforcement of building and property maintenance codes. The department administers an educational program for individuals between the ages of 14 and 20. The Franklin Fire Department maintains a staff of more than 55 employees.
