Fox's Sport & Bait Store

Stopped into this shop on the edge of historic downtown Frederick, named "The Official Big Fish Record Keeper" by the Frederick News-Post, and with good reason. They've got albums worth of old & new pics alike of current and former State records checked into this DNR weigh station.



Since 1959, this family-run business has served sportsmen in the tri-state area. Their knowledge of local areas is unrivaled, particularly by the owner (Bill). On occasion you can catch his son (Todd) there who teaches boating safety and is a master fly-fisherman.



Days are staffed in large part by the eldest daughter, Laurie, but the owner arrives after 4pm. He's the best to talk to for archery, and does a majority of the bowhunting/archery servicing.



Great live bait selection, and avid behind-the-scenes supporters of local fishing clinics & youth derbies.



A great alternative to the 'big box' stores for most anything.
