KCEOC Head Start is a federal program for preschool children from low-income families. It provides various programs that focus on the fulfillment of social, health, nutritional and psychological needs of children. Its curriculum includes math, science, social competencies and writing skills. KCEOC Head Start also offers health related services that include dental examination, cleanings and fluoride treatments. Additionally, it provides mental health specialist works with teachers and family educators to examine children for mental health or behavioral concerns as well as play therapies and consultation services. KCEOC Head Start is a part of KCEOC Community, which has been serving the residents of southeastern Kentucky since 1964. KCEOC Head Start maintains a location in Grays Knob, Ky.
