General Info: Benjamin Rester, MD, FACC, is a cardiologist with Carolina Cardiology Consultants and a clinical associate professor with the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Greenville, South Carolina. His special interests include heart disease prevention, hyperlipidemia, coronary artery disease, myocardial perfusion imaging, cardiac computed tomographic angiography, radial artery cardiac catheterization, percutaneous coronary intervention, peripheral arterial disease, and noninvasive vascular imaging. Dr. Rester earned his medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson, Mississippi. He completed residencies in internal medicine and general cardiology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi; interventional cardiology at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts; with noninvasive vascular imaging training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Rester is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology. He is also board eligible in internal medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine.
