DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. If there was an option to choose zero stars for a rating, I would choose that. Jim Hicks was hired to do one room. Hang drywall, install trim and paint. He and his “crew” did a terrible job. The pictures don’t do it justice, it’s worse in person. He left behind a mess. They got paint and drywall mud and dust all over our 100 year old hardwoods. And this is not the room they were working on, just tracked it through the house. He took down shelves in the room and then took them with him instead of reinstalling them. They used our black hose to wash out their paint brushes and turned our hose pink and white along with the grass and bushes. And left it that way.
Keep in mind when looking at the pics that this is ALL NEW drywall, trim, and paint. All done by him. He NEVER showed up when he was supposed to. Excuse after excuse. Lie after lie. He inconvenienced us for A MONTH for a 2-3 day job. It was the worst experience I’ve ever had with any worker ever in my 50 years on this planet. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. He said he was happy with his work and that it was alright to share pics with anyone. So here ya go.

Jim Hicks advertises on every local social media blog. I hired him to remove wallpaper, correct blemished areas, paint and then put a new light fixture up. He showed up with a crew of young men and told us he would be back. They took the wallpaper off, made a mess of the Sheetrock repair and then made a bigger mess of the painting. Sloppy strokes, splatter and drips everywhere. He showed up in time to leave and then was in a big rush. The only good thing out of it was the light fixture, which he had to come back and redo. I stood with him the entire time to get that job completed the way I wanted. I paid him because my husband said he didn’t believe the crew he had working could do any better and that I was lucky I had hired them only to do a bathroom.
Now I read about this same practice by a local contractor doing the same stuff to others and I feel very guilty. I have been searching for people who will recommend you, Mr.Hicks, but all I find is you offering your services. Not ONE like NEXT TO YOUR NAME. I wonder how you sleep at night. I do have the before photos of my bathroom of the sloppiest painting job ever seen by one of our local real estate persons. I did scrape the paint off my mirrors, toilet, countertops and garden tub, but the rest is just the way you left it because I wanted to remind myself to do more checking before hiring again. Please ask around about him because I have begun to hear horror stories and with greater expense to the client.

An absolute nightmare, almost five months of waiting for him to complete a job, get back to me with an explanation. Materials have been paid for yet I can find no proof that he ordered. His treatment of seniors amounts to elder abuse.

May we never set eyes on him again!!!!
