Pediatric Specialties

Let me first start off by saying, I am a former employee of this practice. The staff is amazing! Dr. Harlow and Dr. Wong also very amazing. This practice however will eventually fail do to a few reasons. The doctors practice very good medicine but along with that you must have compassion. Dr. Materetsky completely lacks this. He's all about the money and will bill every code in the book that he can. My child was recently seen by him. He billed my insurance company for something as a medical professional, I could have done at home, which he is very well aware of. The one and only doctor that even asked for my insurance before he saw my child. The other doctors very graciously saw her without any problems. Billed my insurance and billed me which he refused to write off since I no longer work there. He does not know how to treat his employees which is the main reason I left. Do yourself a favor choose Harlow or Wong do not choose him.

The doctors are great! Very friendly!



The receptionist... the worst! they're too tad lazy to do their work professionally. Setting an appointment with them is a bad experience.

When my daughter was born born Pediatric Specialties out of Hackensack walked into Hackansack Hospital, visited my wife in her hospital room and performed a procedure without prior authorization by the insurance company then tried to stiff us with the bill.



I told the nasty billing rag (who by the way called our house at least twenty times a day to harass us) that I was not paying and even told her that she better comply with the letter which was sent to their practice by our insurance company because it basically stated that if they tried to bill us again they would be pulled from UnitedHealthcare.



Dr.Jonathan Wong was spoken to in regard to the matter of our house being called twenty times a day and he seemed to care less.

Find another pediatrician! Never in my life have I had to deal with a more unorganized and incompetent staff. The receptionists are downright rude. I've been hung up on more than a handful of times and have been unable to get an appointment when sick. The doctors are good - but not good enough to make up for the lack of compassion from their office staff.

I have just recently aged out of pediatrics and I'm STILL having problems with them. I have had to call at least 5 times about transferring my records. I can hear the receptionist talking to the woman who processes record transfers in the background only to have her transfer me to a generic voicemail. I have left numerous voicemails and none of them have been returned.



Find a smaller practice where the doctors aren't overloaded - maybe you'll be able to get an appointment when you really need it.
