Glutein Free Choices

I ate at China Gorge while on a trip to Oregon to visit family. I cannot eat glutein so was very happy to find that they had glutein free noodles that were very good. They also had a glutein free chocolate cake that was wonderful. The food was very good as was the service. I enjoyed the fish tank. I hope I get a chance to return to Hood River so I can eat there again.

Love it.

I've only been here twice but their General Tso's and hot n sour soup are absolutely delicious, lunch and dinner prices are quite reasonable too. The buffet is small but has the essentials for a delicious lunch plate and once again you really can't beat the cost. Service was good, a bit disorganized but good nevertheless. Two thumbs up. I will be back!

Good food, great service

My family stopped at the China Gorge quite hungry. We were seated next to a beautiful, very clean aquarium with interesting salt-water fish, which kept our kids fascinated during the meal. We had a fried shrimp appetizer (highly recommend), egg foo young, and a mixed veggie dish with scallops, along with two kids meals. All dishes were good and well prepared. Best of all, the service was excellent. Our waitress had too many tables, so the manager/owner waited on us. The meal ended with the owner giving my kids paper airplanes to test out in the empty banquet room.

Great destination dining!

My husband and I travel up to Hood River several times each month from Camas, Wa ,to have a meal at the China Gorge Restaurant. We love the luncheon buffet but if is a Saturday, then we order our favorite, the China Gorge Delight. You can not beat the honey glazed shrimp, lemon chicken, and the pork green beans. This is the best combination of Chinese food, as far as we are concerned! We also love the combination appetizer. It has moist bbq pork, crab puffs, shrimp, and egg rolls. Give it a try and we are sure you will not be disappointed!

Great Quality Chinese Food from authentically nice people

Thought I would write a review of the China Gorge (Panda's as I like to refer to it) Restaurant, hold on let me put down my Beef Chow Fun. Ok thats better. My family and I love China Gorge, in fact I remember taking some of my inlaws there for the first time and watching their eyes light up when the vibrant dishes of food showed up. I swear we licked the plates that night. One thing I have noticed, and I can see coming through in some of the reviews, some of the dishes people are used to are prepared differently (more traditional?) than other chinese food restaurants. I have had something as simple as Lemon Chicken done dozens of ways over the years up and down the west coast. I prefer their version the best, but its very different than anything I have had previously. I think reviewers need to remember that when discussing the dishes ordered. I feel confortable/proud taking family, friends, and clients to China Gorge, we are lucky to have this kind of quality here in The Gorge.

I VOTED THE BEST CHINESE FOOD IN HOOD RIVER

After a day of beautiful scenic drive and stops along the beautiful Columbia Gorge from Portland, we arrived tired and hungry in Hood River. As we were looking for a good food; we spotted Grace Su, CHINA GORGE Chinese Food up on a hill from Hwy 84. We decided to turn around and give it a try, with lots of pessimism. When we arrived, we had the warm feeling of genuine welcome by Grace Su herself. Again, pessimism has not been any less than, if not increase … until we sit down and presented with a good warm touch of tea served. As the food arrived on our table … the color is amazingly authentic and beautifully enticing of what we used to see … better yet, our pessimism quickly disappear and replaced with optimism … especially after we tasted the dishes we ordered; all are wonderfully presented and as tasty as it looks …In Hood River ??? we asked amongst us? What a pleasant surprise …Grace … we will see you again soon! That is a contract!

BEST IN HOOD RIVER

as Chinese Food Lover myself & knowing my choices, this is an AWESOMELY tasteful Chinese Restaurant, Friendliest, Cleanest, with many dishes selection, most authentic Northern Chinese cooking (other wonderful cooking style is also offered). we started our conference meeting here & some of our favorites are; Salt & Pepper Calamari, General Tso’s Chicken, Dry Sautéed Green Beans (veggies), Jade Tofu … forgot the name of the others, but none we dislike.Since … we dined here every day during our stay; I must say that this is one place closest to connoisseur’s dining experience avail. in Hood River ... nice ambience atmosphere and not to forget to ask the wonderful choices of the deserts, regret you ask? We don’t remember any, unfortunately, forget the names. if you are into relaxing moments while dining and refuse to pay the high price, this is one place need your visit, highly recommended only, may not be enough.closest to Nirvana of the Chinese Food … we say
