Let’s start by looking at one of the most important parts of your checkup: your professional teeth cleaning.
Fluoride Treatment
Children’s teeth are particularly vulnerable - and not just because kids tend to have poor dental hygiene. We go through two sets of teeth by the time we’re teens, and all that growth requires a lot of minerals; especially fluoride. If you want your child to have strong, healthy teeth and a beautiful, natural-looking smile, regular fluoride treatments are recommended.
Dental Sealants
Tooth sealants protect these susceptible areas by sealing the grooves and depressions, preventing bacteria and food particles from residing in these areas. Sealant material is a resin typically applied to the back teeth, molars and premolars and areas prone to cavities. It lasts for several years, but needs to be checked during regular appointments.

Resin Composite
The “Maryland” bridge is commonly used to replace missing front teeth and consists of a filler that is attached to metal bands that are bonded to the abutment teeth. The metal bands consist of a white-colored composite resin that matches existing tooth color.
Veneers
Bonding is an alternative to veneers and can be used as a restorative procedure for teeth that are chipped, cracked, discolored or misarranged. Bonding typically lasts three to five years before need of repair.
Crowns
When adult teeth are damaged, crowns can be a good alternative that can substitute for damaged teeth, but they don’t have to be the go-to procedure unless most of a tooth is gone. If the damage is minor, we often recommend inlays or onlays. They are more durable than fillings and therefore last longer, but less invasive and time-consuming than crowns.
Bridges
A fixed bridge is the most popular and consists of a filler tooth that is attached to two crowns, which fit over the existing teeth and hold the bridge in place. A dental bridge is a device used to fill the space where a tooth has fallen out or been removed. A typical dental bridge consists of a pontic (a filler tooth) that is attached to two surrounding crowns (abutments). Once complete, this bridge structure is bonded or cemented into the mouth. Without the use of a bridge, spaces in the mouth from missing teeth can cause multiple teeth to shift, lead to malocclusion (bad bite) and/or jaw problems, and may spur periodontal (gum) disease. Dental bridges safeguard the integrity of existing teeth and help maintain a healthy smile.

A root canal is a procedure that extracts decayed pulp from the central part of the tooth, reshapes the canal and replaces it with strengthening filler.

Dentures
Dentures are an ideal way for people with multiple missing teeth to replace them. Multiple visits to our office are needed to fit new dentures properly. First, an impression of the toothless area of the gums will be taken. This mold is used to fashion dentures that will fit precisely into the mouth, making them both comfortable and durable.

This is something you want to avoid, so if someone you know has recently lost a tooth, consider letting them know about the implant options listed below! It could save them months of recovery time and thousands of dollars down the line.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Oral Surgery
One of our staff members will compile your medical and dental history during your first visit. We will then examine your teeth and gums, screen for oral cancer, make X-rays of your teeth as needed and complete a TMJ (temporomandibular or jaw joint) exam. After we review your dental profile, we will discuss a diagnosis with you. If treatment such as a root canal (endodontics), braces (orthodontics) or oral surgery is needed, we will plan to treat you in our office or refer you to a specialist. We will discuss your options for treatment and fee payment and help you determine the best plan to fit your needs.
Tooth Extractions
To potentially stave off this result, an extraction of one, several or all of the wisdom teeth may be advised. If that is the case, we have the equipment and training needed to perform such extractions, with an absolute minimum of discomfort. Ask our staff for more information regarding tooth extractions if you feel you may need one.
Bone Grafting
When a tooth is lost, it’s important to consider the next move carefully – and here’s why. In the absence of a tooth, jawbone begins to deteriorate. Eventually, a jawbone can no longer support a tooth at all. At this point, bone grafting, which is a highly invasive procedure in itself, becomes required.

After sending precise treatment instructions, Invisalign uses advanced computer technology to translate these instructions in a sequence of finely calibrated aligners — as few as 12 or as many as 48. Each aligner is worn for about two weeks and only taken out to eat, brush and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next, your teeth will begin to move gradually — week-by-week until the final alignment prescribed is attained. Then you'll be smiling like you never have before!

Braces
