Donald S. Bowser grew up in the family business. His father, Fred S. Bowser established his funeral home in Parker in 1919. Six of his 10 children eventually became licensed funeral directors and opened funeral homes throughout the state of Pennsylvania. Donald Bowser, the eldest son, opened his funeral home in Plumville in 1931. After Donald's death in 1969, his wife Anne continued to operate the family business until her death in 1986. Donald and Anne's daughter, Pamela and husband Michael Minich purchased the Plumville Funeral Home in 1985. The name was then changed to Bowser-Minich. Pamela and Michael expanded into the Indiana market and a new funeral home was built in 1986. The new facility was dedicated in memory of Donald and Anne Bowser. In 2008, the Minichs decided to close the Plumville Funeral Home due to the declining population and the realization that the newer facility in Indiana was the preferred choice for families. In 2009, Pamela and Michael expanded the Indiana Funeral Home and services to meet the needs of their families. Today, Bowser-Minich ranks first among its competitors in Indiana County.
