I am so upset!! I placed my daughters nursery set and stroller with carseat with these folks. I then had to have surgery and was out of it for a few weeks. I went to the store to check on things and they are GONE!!!! I have no idea how to find my daughters stuff or to report this person as a thief!! If anyone knows anything please call me at 910-430-2045 and leave a message please!!! My name is DonnaMae

this place rocks. great stuff, great prices and not crowded-or rude employees, i get so much more for my items- and they donate to real people who need the items not goodwill which is not a nonprofit organization. would recommend to anyone looking to get great kids clothes for a great price

This place is ridiculous! They rip you off! I brought in my sons clothes which were stains free and expensive. I turned them in waited three weeks and then I called and they said there were stains on his clothes I know there wasent and I would have wanted them back if I knew they were going to give them away which I doubt they did they probally have them in that run down shop of theirs! I will deffintly being goinf back to Once upon a child next time. Once upon a child is trendy, you get your money or exchange that day or the next NOT weeks later if any money!

I have been shopping at this store for 3 years. They have gone through management changes and everytime it gets better. Whoever said they were rude, must be one of those rude people that live in jacksonville. I buy and consign my items. The store is owned by an active duty military family that tries to help the military community, and the local community. They give you more for your stuff than once upon a child who only gives you about 15%. And talk about rude.,once upon a child is full of rude people. They know you buy name, and even offer layaway for those families on a fixed budget. And as a local business they don't write checks for every $5 you have on your account. Who can blame them for that. And if you can't read the contract you sign to do their program, then don't fault them for reminding you of their policies. It isn't their job to hold your hand through the progress. They have easy policies compared to most consignment shops. Plus most places won't give you your items back, they will. You just have to ask. But since they donate locally, don't ask for your items back 2 months after your contract. They donate them bc they run out of room. And they are always bringing out new items. Great place for military family.

My husband is a Marine and we've lived in NC for two years now, with our now four year old daughter and we have a son on the way. Virtually all of her clothes that we have purchased have come from this store! We've walked out with two grocery bags FULL of clothes for her and we only spent about $60! We recently started consigning there as well and although you do have to earn up to $25 to get a check, you get 60% store credit on your items and their staff are the sweetest people ever! The bad reviews must be from rude people, as they are abundant down here, b/c Beth is the sweetest woman ever. AND if there are items that don't sell you may either retrieve them or Beth will donate them to two local churches that help clothe both local and international children with mission trips! I LOVE this store!

Overpriced and OVERLY RUDE!! I will NEVER take my stuff there and/or shop there again! They keep 60% of the profit if you want cash (50% for store credit, not worth it) but then won't cut you a check until you get to $25 (in other words, you are virtually forced to take store credit if you don't have $25 in your sales account, or bring them more stuff until it gets to $25). There is a lot of red tape basically. However, as they will so rudely tell you, it was all stated in the contract. They overprice your stuff too so that it's virtually impossible to sell often times. What a rip-off! I hope they go out of business and everyone starts selling their stuff on lejeuneyardsales or craigslist.

If you go, go on a Tuesday or Thursday. Mondays and Wednesdays are when they buy back from consigners, so the employees won't give you the time of day. I had to wait for 20 or 30 minutes to buy two things because the one employee there kept ignoring me to talk to consigners.
Other times I've gone, the service was good and friendly and helpful. One employee made a suggestion of a toy when she saw my son playing with a different one. Prices aren't what you'd find at a garage sale, but the convenience of a store is nice. I've gotten some really nice things for my son there, and it's hard to find anything for boys in this town.
If you want the best selection on seasonal things, go the month before the season starts (February for spring, April for Summer. I think August is fall). If you want the best prices, wait a month or two. If things don't sell, the prices reduce every couple of weeks.
The toys don't get much turnaround—I always see the same stuff in there—but they have a nice turnaround of car seats and girl clothes. We are going there today to see if we can get a second car seat for my in-law's house.

This place was great each time I went! My kids played on the toys and the person that assisted me was very nice. The prices in my opinion are doable. It was alo much neater and cleaner than some other places I have been to in town!!!!

Prices aren't that good for the quality of stuff they have....and some of the employees are extremely rude. They have a lot of toys, but if you bring your children- they are not allowed to touch anything. Will never go back again.
