Pediatric Care
During Maggie’s career, she worked Emergency Medicine, Intensive Care, Pediatrics and Special Care Nursery. Maggie completed her Women’s Health rotation with Kristin while in the nurse practitioner program at South University. Maggie also completed rotations in pediatrics, family practice, and internal medicine.
Family Practice
Working with Dr. Sandra Mager in the areas of family medicine and OB/GYN has given Lindsey experience with a broad range of medical illnesses, treatment plans, and has allowed her to become an effective team member in providing appropriate patient care while demonstrating her commitment to effective healthcare.
Emergency Care
Kristin has work experience in Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, and Women’s Health. While in the nurse practitioner program at Georgia Southern, Kristin spent a 5 month rotation with Dr. Mager for Women’s Health. Kristin also had rotations in pediatrics, family practice, internal medicine and urgent care.
Immunizations
This is also a good time to discuss any previous pregnancy problems, medicines that you currently are taking, vaccinations that you might need, and steps you can take before pregnancy to prevent certain birth defects.

Gynecology
Dr. Mager performed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon, Georgia and was awarded the Outstanding OB/GYN Teaching Resident.
Obstetrics
Dr Mager is a board certified obstetrician with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She has been practicing in Wayne County and the surrounding counties since 1997.
Endometriosis
If surgery is something that you need, Dr. Mager offers all types of surgery for our female patients. They specialize in Laparoscopic surgeries including hysterectomy, and tubal ligation as well as surgical treatment management of heavy menses with Endometrial Ablation with Novasure. They also offer surgical treatment and management of endometriosis, therapeutic D/C and vaginal prolapse reconstruction.
Labor and Delivery
Labor may be induced for a number of reasons. It could be to stimulate contractions of the uterus in an effort to have a vaginal birth. If the health of the baby or mother are at risk, Dr. Mager may recommend labor induction. There may also be elective induction. The mother may request induction if she lives very far away from the hospital. But this should not occur before 39 weeks of pregnancy.

Internal Medicine
Lindsey graduated with honors from South Georgia College where she received an Associate of Science Degree in Pre-Alled Health. She also graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Medical College of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science Degree as a Physician Assistant. She was a Dean’s List recipient at the Medical College of Georgia and at South Georgia College. She was awarded the South Georgia College General Chemistry Award, South Georgia College Sophomore Academic Award, and Who’s Who among America’s Junior Colleges. As a student at the Medical College of Georgia, Lindsey completed rotations in the following areas: Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine, Mental Health, OB/GYN, Surgery, and Internal Medicine.
Cervical Cancer
The suggested requirements for cervical cancer screening has recently changed. It is now recommended that healthy women between the ages of 21-19 get a PAP test and HPV test every three years. Women between the ages of 30 – 65 should get a PAP test and HPV test every five years.
Colon Cancer
Estrogen therapy (with or without progestin) has been shown to be the best treatment for the relief of hot flashes and night sweats. Estrogen therapy can also protect against the bone loss that occurs in early menopause and helps prevent hip and spine fractures. Combined estrogen and progestin therapy may reduce the risk of colon cancer. Urinary Tract Infection
There are many reasons to take your teenage daughter to the gynecologist that don’t include PAP tests. Dr. Mager will speak to teenagers about whether or not their periods are normal, relief from PMS, how to tell if they have a urinary tract infection, healthy relationships/answers to questions about sex. It is also a great opportunity to discuss birth control options and STDs so that when the time is right, your daughter will have the facts and be able to make educated decisions.

Thyroid
Some conditions may have an increased risk of complications during pregnancy or delivery. Some of these risk factors include: diabetes, thyroid disorders, high blood pressure, heart disease, and cancer. Dr. Mager is also experienced in handling other complications during pregnancy, such as gestational diabetes, recurring miscarriages and premature birth. Personalized care and close follow-up are provided for those women, to ensure a healthy pregnancy and a safe and successful delivery.

Ultrasound
An obstetrical ultrasound will be performed by a licensed ultrasound tech in order to evaluate the developing fetus and health of the mother. An obstetrical ultrasound is a safe, non-invasive procedure which uses sound waves to create an image of the fetus, placenta and amniotic fluid. Both doctor and parents can view these images on a computer monitor. Ultrasounds can be performed transabdominally, which involves moving a transducer across the skin of the lower abdomen, or transvaginally, which involves inserting a transducer into the vagina and rotating it for a comprehensive view of the fetus and surrounding organs.
