Dental Examination
We utilize The Florida Probe program to help detect, diagnose, and monitor all stages of periodontal disease. A computer program organizes and tracks changes in patients' periodontal health. The system acts as a computerized assistant for the periodontal exam. A take-home print out of each patients' periodontal charting can be given to them.
X-rays
Depending on your dental needs, your first visit to our office is usually a full comprehensive examination with the doctor. Dr. Caron or Dr. Jones will review your dental and medical history, your dental needs and complete a thorough examination of teeth and gums, including the TMJ, and an oral cancer screening. This exam will determine all that has been done in the past and the treatment that needs to be done. Current dental x-rays will help the doctor to evaluate the necessary dental treatment. Depending on how long it has been since your last professional cleaning and dental examination, we may be able to schedule a professional cleaning with one of our hygienists for that same day!
Oral Cancer Screening

Crowns are made from several types of materials: metal alloys, ceramics, porcelain, porcelain fused to metal, or composite resin. At Caron and Jones Dental Care, we use EMax- which is an esthetic ceramic, and it is matched to the color of the surrounding teeth.
Veneers

Crowns
Have you been told you need a crown and wonder how many trips to the dentist this will take? With new CEREC technology, crowns are complete in a single appointment. The creation and placement of the crown has become a commonly performed dental treatment with this new technology. CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics or Ceramic Reconstruction.
Bridges
You may need a crown to protect a weak tooth from breaking or to restore a broken tooth. Crowns are also used to hold a dental bridge in place, cover a dental implant or cover discolored teeth. Sometimes a tooth cannot support a filling so a crown is needed.
Restorative Dentistry
The term restorative dentistry is the management of oral health problems and restoring of the mouth to a functional and aesthetic state when some teeth are missing or damaged.

Root Canal Treatment
In preparation for a crown, the dentist may take x-rays to check the roots of the tooth and surrounding bone receiving the crown. If the tooth has decay or there is infection or injury to the pulp, a root canal may be performed. Root canal treatment eliminates bacteria from the infected root canal. The inflamed or infected pulp is removed, and the inside of the tooth is carefully cleaned to prepare for the crown.

Unfortunately, you may find that wearing unsecured dentures can be painful, inconvenient and awkward.
