Johnson Builders

We met with Johnson Builders and the owner, Sammy Johnson told us about all his quality work and custom homes. We went to one of his "custom" homes in Jessamine County and it was TERRIBLE. The driveway was falling apart and there was several feet of water in crawlspace. His attention to detail inside and out looked like something in a poverty stricken neighborhood. Our friends who showed us the home were so depressed and they told us that Johnson Builders would not fix anything under their warranty. I think they hired attorney and are going to file lawsuit. I am SOOOO glad we did not go to contract.

Johnson builders built our home in the summer of 2009. It was a nightmare from the start. The owner & contractor, Sam Johnson was hardly ever on scene to supervise the crews. He used every excuse in the book of why he couldnt be there. Lack of supervision led to problems that we as the "homeowners" had to find on our own. Major structural damage occured under the home with the foundation. An engineering company had to inspect underneath the crawl space to determine why the floors were sinking in the master bedroom. Problems from the excavating crew led to the crawl space flooding even before we moved in. Everything underneath the house got wet, & has to be replaced. The driveway wasn't poured to "standard" & is peeling off in layers. One incident involved a sub-contractor yelling & cussing the homeowners in front of children. We could not reach Mr. Johnson that day either. Lack of experience is evident in all areas of home building & remodeling. The carpentry work is terrible, & there is no attention to detail in flooring, trim, stairways, etc. The builder has refused to fix any of the problems, & the list is very long. He hasnt stood by his warrenty. He refuses to show us invoices, receipts, etc. that pertain to the home. The BBB is currently investigating him on this as well as another similar complaint. We set up 2 different dates with the mediation center to try & resolve this matter, but he didnt show up for either one . We recently filed a claim on his builders insurance, who came out & took pictures of the damage. They are processing the claim. We just want our home fixed, & to be shown respect. What a nighmare! We hope that this review helps anyone who may consider using this company. Please use someone with experience ! Beware
